You're not looking at buying one of these then?
at that price it better come with a mouth. I have a seriously hard time believing a .22 variant of a $79 rifle is worth near enough $900
https://www.keystonesportingarmsllc.com/product/mini-mosin-special-edition/ It's supposed to be almost half that, and the rifle alone is $400. Still a lot more than a cricket yes, but within reason imo.
Rented out a PMR-30 at the range today. Felt like shooting a .45 acp nerf gun.
It's a single-shot .22. They couldn't even put the effort in to getting it to feed from a magazine.
You need to understand that firearms in Australia cost so much more than in the states. Dunno if it's just the market, shipping, or if they get huge tax on import, but it's all bullshit prices.
Ah, I missed that part. My guess is the import BS, the tax might not be high but in order to get firearms that aren't domestically produced there might be a lot of leg work.
So basically they’re trying to charge more for something which somehow manages to be objectively worse than a Mosin (which is an accomplishment in of itself)? AHAHA holy shit I can’t breathe.
it would be worth $400 if it actually fed from the mag. Not, "it looks like a Mosin"
Eh, barely. That would still be more than twice of what I paid for mine, including $50 worth of gunsmith work to get the bayonet to fit and the bolt action smoothed out.
You can't compare the value of a Mosin to any new manufactured rifle. I still wouldn't pay $400 for a .22 Mosin, but it'd be a fair price.
Hello friends, I was pointed towards this thread by @Perogi Palooka https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/238892/278bf836-cda1-4ed1-807d-86768f399fe4/IMG_20161224_171717.jpg
What the fuck is that god awful bayonet thing and where can I get 6 of them?
It's a tactical block - I got it from CZ-USA but literally everywhere is out of stock now.
I've seen those before, but they make one with a knife?? Or did you modify it?
It comes with the knife, it's removable. The tactical block itself has such limited utility, and the knife would make it less useful... I dunno why they did this
Because practical < tacticool.
Let's start a "practicool" movement?
You've actually got about 5 more years minimum till this happen ( if it happens ) Inside information, please don't rat me out.
Yes, compliance officer, this post.
Just an FYI for anyone out there whose getting into cleaning or working on antique firearms: SimpleGreen may be a great cleaner/degreaser for those tough, stuck on stains, carbon, lead, mung, etc. and may be non-corrosive, but given enough time it will remove the blueing and other finishes from steel and other metals. It can also etch steel with long enough exposure. I was going to conserve the finish on an old Marlin 336, but I let it sit in SimpleGreen too long before I boiled it. When I took the parts out of the soap, they were raw steel instead of the rusty blued steel I left in there. I've had to completely reblue the entire firearm. From the pins, screws, springs, to the barrel, tube, and receiver. Rust blueing screws, pins, and springs is not fun. At all.
It also likes to strip anodizing, not quite like oven cleaner but it'll do it. That's what had happened to that P220 I got if you guys remembered that, someone had tried to clean the frame with simple green and fucked it. Thank gun jesus for cerakote and its hard shell goodness. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/105/afb98a10-bd07-439c-8817-e8d7a13146e5/60459182_2708626955845240_3382691825440522240_n.jpg
That's actually a poster you can buy, btw: https://www.headstamppublishing.com/merchandise/poster-chassepot-to-famas Ians view on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuRxqhMCqwo&t=0s
Just ordered Gun Jesus' book and the Gun Jesus poster. He seems so surprised that the book is doing so well, and I think it's because he didn't realize his audience. He thought he was selling this book to French rifle enthusiasts. In reality, he was selling this book to his Youtube audience, who like him and everything he makes, so that's why so many more people have bought it than he was expecting. I've never really cared about French military guns, but I bought the signature edition for fucking $200 Canadian after shipping to support him.
So I'm selling my shotgun. Listed is $600, just got an offer for $350. Like, who actually agrees to such low deals? Why even make such a stupid offer?
I plan on ordering it when i get off work. I didnt have a high interest in gun history till i saw forgotten weapons which also led me to c and r arsenal among others.
No I don't have a problem, I don't know what you're talking about! https://i.imgur.com/PFzBOPYh.jpg
I thought this analysis from RAND was interesting: Gun Policy Analysis | RAND
