Get it in a really nice lilac. It'd be so pretty.
I actually like these from the Candy colors. Blue Steel https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1692/0637/products/IMG20171014154327927_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1521576517 Montoya Indigo https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1692/0637/products/IMG2985_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1489098628
gave my new dueling tree a spin and shot 640 rounds of 22lr at it with my friend the wobble was kinda problematic-- sometimes multiple plates would move, not just the one that got hit. about 10 times, all 4 plates moved to one side in a single shot. not sure if i should try to return it (amazon generally has a really good return policy) or try to jury rig a fix also, i love .22lr-- 640 rounds of cci standard velocity only cost me about $32. if it were any other round, i would be paying at least $150.
Get it in plum if you can. That's usually a nice looking finish, without looking too gaudy.
The only thing I would want to look plum would be AK furniture. Or a poorly blued Winchester 94. I think I'll go with the Blue Steel, have my LEM USP get coated and leave the V1 with the wear.
Send it back and get a higher quality model? I was just shooting a small AR 500 pistol duelling tree today that should have been limited to .22lr because the paddles were so light they kept bouncing back quite vigorously after getting hit with 9mm

QBE Insurance has decided to stop underwriting the Sport Shooter Association of Australia's shooting liability and theft/damage firearms insurance policies because they don't want to be associated with it any more.
Welcome to the club. Your best bet for a crisp dot is with a holo sight. Otherwise, deal with a flare mark of a dot or get glasses/contacts.
yeah i realized i had an astigmatism when i got my CompM3. feels bad man i've heard holo sights are also kinda fucked for most people with astigmatism. i heard that prism scopes work well, on the other hand. anything with an etched reticle.
My friend's holo looked way better to my eye than any red dot I have looked through so far.
it's different for different people i think. i have a friend who is kinda okay with red dots, but with holo sights he ends up seeing 2-3 dots instead of just 1. i never tried a holo sight personally so i dunno about myself.
I've kinda got it as well, but not enough to make a terrible difference. Dot goes from about a 2 MOA to approximately 3-4, depending on how I look at it. I just deal with it.
Because threads that are pinned in child forums don't show up in the GD main section when bumped, meaning no one would ever see a update
In hindsight I should have probably spent money to buy a better gun instead of trying to bubba my poor LCP II into submission https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/230258/b5d175c7-9d1b-431f-b921-28eb6ee79cd0/bo7PwVR.jpg
Well I picked up my 2nd USP. The slide is off to get coated in Blue Steel. Won't see it for a month or so due to how busy it is. It was a bit more expensive than I was expecting,, around $220 for one color and a finish coat, but this is my first go at having something coated not from from factory. I might send in the other one to have a shard pattern applied to it if I like the results from this first one.
A lot of what makes a good coating is prepwork. What you're paying for is mostly labor, though I will admit even I think that's a lot for just a slide in 1 color. Even with slide disassembly/reassembly I generally would charge about 160-180, to which if you were to disassemble it would be more like 120, and that's using the gunsmith who does all the custom cerakote and guncandy finishes for JP Enterprise. In any event at that price point you should feel comfortable knowing that it's going to be done right.
The slide disassembly/reassembly was 25. The real meat of the price is the color I chose and the finish coat. If I do decide to do a shard parttern,I will use nothing but the common cerakotes that they have on hand with a matte finish.

Caseless my ass, that is the modern equivalent of having a muzzle loaded revolver. Whoever invested money into this project really should have thought about what it is they're actually making.
So retarded. I like how they can't show a single major advantage over existing weapons.
But guys, you don't understand the shotgun feature of this sniper-shot, machine-assault gun  https://gazette.com/military/army-might-have-found-its-new-rifle-in-colorado-springs/article_96cd214c-c290-11e8-9d41-27b5a0e767a4.html
How much does an individual model weight, naked?
Check out the gauge of that battery cable going to the battery. Also, what benefit is there to caseless ammo for the average infantryman? I can see a bonus in vehicle mounted weapons, but what about the individual?
If you deal with the heat issues it weighs less, meaning you can carry more. Problem is that brass acts as a heat sink and is useful for keeping guns cool.
Because edges are the most likely part of the gun to hit something when dropped etc. The magwell walls aren't exactly the thickets part and at the bottom are not supported completely.
It does also simplify gun manufacture, as you no longer need to be concerned with an extraction process. The heat sink part is really what's holding the tech back at this point though. The LSAT program was showing promise, but apparently it wasn't good enough as the Army decided to can it in favor of a more traditional SAW replacement program with the stipulation of having ammo that is 20% lighter. Its a shame too as the ammunition they developed for it pretty much solved all of the short comings of predecessors such as the ammo used in the G11 except the heat issue. If they could find a way to handle chamber heat better caseless would pretty much be the biggest innovation in ammunition tech since the self contained cartridge, as it would allow for lighter ammo and drastically simpler firearm design.
I wonder how it performs in extreme environments (Moisture, Temperature, Debris)
tbh i wonder how much caseless ammo would end up costing for a civilian shooter and what the fate of (ammo) reloading would be
