This guy's got a good series of videos specifically on setting up a shotgun for home defense. I'd recommend you watch them.

Fuddy Gunner thinks you only need six shots for self defense and carries .38 Special +P in his .357 magnum revolver.
Another reminder that we have a Discord and you need to be in it: https://discord.gg/ueRfsTk
We may or may not lose the forums soon, but we don't have to lose each other.
Do you guys have any recommendations for cheap but good milling/lathe equipment?
What's this about the forums?
garry's pitching another fit and mentioned the possibility of closing down the forum in a month or so
Dead thread? Anyways, what happens if you get soviet era packing grease under your skin? I jabbed myself with a practice RPG and now there's a blob of black shit in my palm. Does it just sit there inert?
It gives you canceraids.
RIP ColdAsRice.
Give me diamonds to help fund his funeral.
Theres not really any science behind Cosmoline because its so toxic that nobody can do a full study on it to find out how deadly it is. I doubt you'r even reading this because you're already dead.

Time to fudd it up a bit.
Dammit, now I'm sad I was too busy to take the hunter safety class this year.
Does anyone know someone who would be able to recreate a one-off of a Colt SCAR selector lever?

I might try to put detent tracks on the reverse side of a Magpul 45 degree safety to see if I could maybe modify a KAC ambi safety to work reversed.
if it's not going into a registered lower you should be able to just find any old ambi safety that lets you take both sides off, make a couple cosmetic changes, and stick the levers on sideways
It’s going on an Aero “m16a4” lower to test and eventually if I or someone else can make one work it’s going on a Colt M4 lower with a modified Colt LE6940 upper. I’m not really into guns purely for show.
MAC is going to be in town this weekend. Time to get a free patch and maybe win a raffle.

3200rpm my god.
Picked up a mid-war Type 99 Arisaka with anti-aircraft sights for $235. Came with an original sling, too. Just needs a firing pin, cocking knob, and monopod.
Put my name on it before it even hit the sales floor. Working at a local gun shop is A+ work.
What was the video? The poster closed their youtube account.
Royalnonesuch or something like that. Youtube made another stealth change to the TOS that was retroactive and basically is fucking over all gun channels. Can't show anything really.
Spotted an interesting Mauser rifle for sale:

According to the description it's an Israeli Mauser manufactured at Brno and chambered in 7.62 NATO. Seriously thinking of picking this up as a moose hunting gun and probably even ditching the scope, even though there are mountings ready for one.
It was 2 modified 22 rifles in full auto. A Ruger 10/22 charger and a Savage MKII i think. The savage was calculated to have 3200 RPM and the rouger was 2500 RPM. Ruger had several issues feeding from the 25 round mags.
Mausers are nice rifles, and a .308 mauser is on my bucket list of guns to eventually get.
If nothing else though, I'd check the bore and the locking lugs before buying though, make sure there's no rust or pitting. I got burned on that once, bought a sporterized Spanish M43 that turned out to have a badly pitted barrel. Accuracy results have been horrible so far, but we'll see.
Why not rebarrel it, shouldn't be that bad to do unless you don't want to spend more than the gun is worth.
Well, I payed $200 for it so it's not like it was a huge loss. Regardless, I'd still like to get around to seeing how it does with prvi partizan ammo first. The stuff it was shooting musket-tier groups with was this modern-production Romanian steel case crap.
If I do end up rebarreling, I'm thinking of having it rechambered in .308. The only thing that worries me about that is I'd likely need to have modifications done to the magazine to make that work, widening the feed lips slightly and having a spacer put in. I'd have to be selective about my choice of gunsmith if I were going to do that.
It's all kinda on the back-burner at the moment. I've got some other stuff I'd like to focus on right now.
Why not go all the way and and mod it to take detachable mags? A fun gun project like Fugly the SBR Mosin.
tbh, that might not be a terrible idea. The bottom metal latch is fused shut on this thing.
Who knows, it is meant to operate like a M1911 safety. It may have been a request by SOCOM, being that the SCAR program was meant to produce a rifle that SOCOM could change without having to go through any of the other branches.
Plus it's an M39. If you're Finnish and you don't own an Ukko Pekka, you are wrong.
