I carry a CZ75b. I dont care about lineage of guns. What matters to me is that it doesnt have a safety that locks the slide, doesnt have a useless grip safety, isnt SAA, and doesnt go off when its dropped on its ass. Everything Browning sucked and I'm standing by that.
So in other words, you carry the Czech improved Hi-Power, a Browning design?
Lmao what the fuck you literally carry a Browning Hi-Power copy as your CC you're fuckin trolling mate
cz75 is for all intents and purposes a hi power with some extra bells and whistles. a hi power is a 1911 with some extra bells and whistles I dont see the issue with the safety locking the slide. why do you need to run it on safe? grip safety wasnt jmb's idea and it's super easy to disable so what's the problem. condition 1 is fine. colt series 80 and kimbers are all drop safe, probably most current peoduction. you dont have to use a handgun that's actually 100 years old the 1911 definitely has some major issues but you're tackling superficial, inconsequential, or just plain out of date shit just because you don't like the manual of arms as far as I can tell. what about the hi power? why don't you like that? and why do you like the cz75 if you dont like the hi power? what about other guns he had a hand in that are pretty universally considered good like the ithaca 37, remington model 8, winchester 1894, winchester 1912, colt woodsman, browning a-5, etc? sure some are a little dated, but I would not hesitate to have any one of those in my arsenal. I even already do have some, the 1894 is the nicest lever gun I've ever run and the 1912 is the best pump gun money can buy. colt woodman is on my buy list too, those things are straight up cool. what about all the ammo to his name? .25 acp, .32 acp, and .380 acp all have their place in the world. even .45 acp has its place, it's the next best thing to 10mm for a submachine gun. is this all just to be contrarian?
this is the most unamerican thing i have ever read you should be charged with treason
So I kinda want a Carbine/SBR/Pistol hybrid thingy, just want something small and compact with a 30 round magazine and universal ammo or maybe 10mm like my Glock. ( JK no more 10mm guns ) I'm currently stuck between a Scorpion Evo, Kriss Vector or some sort of AR-15 pistol, it would mostly be for being compact and easy to use indoors. Essentially a home defense gun, after reading about ballistics on calibers I feel like the AR-15 pistol/sbr would be the best idea as 5.56 doesn't pass through drywall well. Anyone got some recommendations or any experience with the following firearms? ( AR-15 Pistol/Hybrids don't count unless you know a solid brand that doesn't make one out of garbage parts ) Last thing, yeah 30 rounds is overkill for self defense/home defense. But I most likely wouldn't have to worry about a mag change inside my own house and it's fun to have a fat mag for range times.
I'm always going to say an AR because of the aftermarket and modularity. Vectors are cool but their recoil system doesn't do much when you can't use it in full auto, scorpions are nice but have shitty triggers and not much aftermarket. An AR pistol let's you change almost everything to suit your taste and needs. 10mm is pretty damn solid, using Buffalo Bore 180gr out of a 10" barrel you basically get a semi auto 41 Magnum. The vector .45 mag extension kids will work with 10mm Glock mags with some modification as well, which gives you your 30rd mag. New Frontier offers uppers, lowers, barrels, and buffers for your own build, and APF has some pre built pistols with arm braces that are pretty good.
I would skip the PCCs just because of pistol caliber ballistics. Just about every big name AR manufacturer makes an AR pistol now, how much do you want to spend? I can recommend Daniel Defense. 5.56/.223 isn't the greatest out of a short barrel, it's very loud and produces a lot of flash out of short barrels, so maybe you'd want to consider .300blk? DD offers pistols chambered in both calibers: https://danieldefense.com/firearms.html
Well I really don't want to spend more than $750 honestly for an AR style pistol, I feel it ridiculous after that price point as I could just get a 16 inch AR and keep the stock closed for the most part. But the DD pistols look pretty damn sexy.
Any thoughts on a P320? Looked at one at our Exchange today, was curious on any other thoughts. Really I'm looking to buy a new 9mm, not sure what's good right now.
As someone with 70% hearing and constant tinnitus due to playing it fast and loose with hearing protection, trust me, no, no you wouldn't. Don't be dumb and shoot without muffs.
Well in the event someone breaks in, I'm not too sure my first thought will be the muffs but I promise I'll try to remember them. Yeah I'm at about 90% hearing with some bad ringing here and there, already did the goofball mistake when I was younger when it came to shooting.
oh you fucking mean in a self defense situation LOL I'm a moron
It's all good haha, shit happens. Also I think I'm gonna stick with a 10.5 inch barrel for the AR "pistol", I want the best ballistics. That and I won't feel like I'm completely SOL if I decide to pop anything past 20 yards.
As much as I dislike springfield armory right now, I don't know why I didnt think of this before; the Saint AR Pistol is near your price range and is a great value for the money. SAINT™ AR Springfield Armory Saint AR Pistol 223/5.56 $852.00
320's are alright. They had a bit of a rocky introduction what with the whole going off when dropped thing happened but over all they're a solid pistol. For what we as civilians do I'd say its comparable to a glock 19 or an M&P, its just another poly framed striker pistol. If it feels good in the hand, balances well and points well for you, it'll be a good gun for you.
I'm going to buy one only to have another US service pistol clone, otherwise I think they're pretty meh. You can't really go wrong with a G19, probably the most popular 9mm compact pistol out there, plenty of aftermarket support, and plenty of used ones at good prices. Other than that, there are quite a few good 9mm striker fired pistols out there, so like Uncle J said, just fondle all of them and get whatever feels good to you. Walther PPQ and HK VP9 have probably the best factory striker fired pistol triggers out there, the CZP10C is pretty good, so is the Steyr M9A1 and M&P 9

Looks like my neighbor's kid's 92 Civic he spraypainted matte black with walmart paint. I love it
I second the PPQ, picked one up last month. But there is the a catch. It's got the price tag to match the quality, so you will pay roughly 125-175 more for a PPQ over a bog standard Glock. That price oh so worth it to me though.
That and pretty much every pistol other than a Glock has $45+ mags. However, the VP9B is available now, and there honestly isn't much difference between that and a PPQ in terms of ergos and triggers, although it costs more than the PPQ.
I still don't understand why firearm companies have to charge me my soul just to hold ammunition and feed. How much god damn R&D did you put into magazines that it needs to cost more than $12 for some plastic or metal?
Because unless your mags are made by Mecgar, Magpul, or Glock, it's going to be expensive. This is also ignoring the garbage brands like Promag and Triple K. From what I have seen, most good handgun mags are made in Germany since they can actually design and manufacture good reliable mags. This goes for the HK, Walther, and S&W M&P lines of pistols. All use German mags. Ruger does a good job of in house mag fabrication, just that most people don't buy as many additional mags for Ruger's pistols. Mag design and quality control are exceptionally important for the mag when compared to the gun. This is why if you take several mags designed for one gun, from various companies and test them, you will find that the cheap ones (Sub $25) will typically fail to be realiable, or fail to even fit correctly. The more expensive OEM mags will work and be relatively flawless in operation, fit, and durability. Cheap mags is how you turn a decent gun into a garbage gun that jams a lot. Just look at most videos from forgotten weapons whenever he shoots some of the old guns. Either the mags are too old and worn out(most of the time), or the mag design was poor overall(M1 carbines).
I'm just gonna 3D print my own mags from ancient ceramic testicle Prosthetics and Velociraptor tears. Daddy Costa will bless the magazine to be inter-changable with all guns to do its unique formula of awesomeness and has tiny people 3D printing rounds within the magazine capable of firing a 30 magazine clip in half a second. But yeah I get they're expensive for a reason and a good one at that, but damn it's just excessive past $30 truly.
I'm a left-handed faggot who likes Bullpups, but my only choices are basically Tavor, Kel-Tec, or some updated Bushmaster M17S design.
I think they make lefty AUGs and you could also buy an MDR.
They have a conversion kit for it, but after cost of the AUG rifle and kit, you might as well buy the MDR. It will be cheaper in the end and without needing additional parts. Just be ready to cough up the money for either rifle.
Alright, so someone help me with some ballistics real quick and just general info. So I still need to get a carry gun, already decided Glock because glocks make me shoot like John Wick. Not really but I can dream, anywayyyyyy. Really kinda stuck on caliber, really was gonna go the 9mm route for capacity and just run some Underwood Speer gold dots. But I was kinda thinking maybe .40 for a little more pew to the pew? Or just get the twin to my Glock 20 and go Glock 29 for carry gun.
G19 and Gold Dots, HSTs, XTPs, Hydra Shoks, Ranger Ts, or even the Underwood Lehigh Extreme Defenders will all fit your bill. Carry a 15rd mag in the gun and a 33rd meme mag as a spare; capacity is king, and so is the ability to make accurate follow up shots.
And a mag full of Lehigh Extreme Penetrator for any Call Of Duty shootouts I get into where I have to shoot through plywood. But on a serious note, would anybody here carry the Extreme Penetrators along with hollow points? I feel like you never know what kind of ammo you'll need and they're a lot more effective than FMJ's by far. Then I start asking myself "Well when the hell am I going to need to shoot THROUGH something other than a body?" and of course the daydreaming starts up and the gun-play fantasies come into effect. Cause we're already talking 45 round with the 3 magazines, that seems excessive but I also don't see any other disadvantage besides extra weight so why not go for 60 rounds? Or is 2 mags of hollow points and 1 mag of penetrators more efficient? I'm really just kinda playing out situations and wanting peoples advice or opinions.
