Appears they've issued a correction:

So uh my aunt gave me this. Appears to have Civil War provenance. The incomplete British markings indicate it's from a known batch of rifles bought surplus by the Union. However that batch never made it to the North as it was captured in transit by Confederate merchant raidiers and redirected South. Those rifles each got a Confederate inspection stamp consisting of "SL" in a circle, which is found on this rifle's stock exactly where it should be.
See if it's still loaded.
Can I put a binary trigger on my musket??
It's legal to have auto sears if they're not installed, so long as you also don't own the weapon its for. Otherwise that can be construed as constructive intent, which is as bad as having it installed.
Henry Rifle repro in .44 mag a good rifle for beginners?
A reproduction? Made by who?
Not really, due to the cost of ammo. Get a 22 or a 223 rifle first.
IIRC Uberti and Henry Repeating Arms makes reproductions of the Henry Rifle, the one I saw being sold by Cabela's was a Henry Big Boy, which I don't think is what I mean.

because im a brainlet with no self control, RDR2 made me want to get a lever action.
So I ordered a top of the range browning BL22 (.22 because its cheap and I don't have to drive for an hour to reach a shooting range that allows larger calibres)
one of these, should be able to pick it up on Monday

Decided on top of the range because it's so god damn nicer looking compared to the cheaper variants
mate, pretty much all lever action .22's can do that
congrats tho, it's a very nice gun
personally i would've gotten a henry since it's much cheaper for about the same thing, but that's just me
im not very knowledgeable on lever actions.
Would've considered a henry but they're pretty difficult to find compared to the browning, my local store doesn't have them.
ah, yea i don't know how guns are in australia
you bought a fantastic rifle though at least. i dont think the henry is better, just cheaper
One more post about it and I'll quit blabbing (unless something really amazing happens):

The rifle still had remnants of old grease in the lock, which means it was a breeze to disassemble it, oil it, and put it back together. A shot of Ballistol unseized the hammer and now the lock is 100% functional.
Did you check and see if the nipple is full of rust or clear?
What a sissy bitch
I have no plans to fire this rifle so I just shot some ballistol down it to neutralize any rust that might be in there.
None of that
44 mag aint that big a deal tbh, you can get it for like 60 cents a round without even trying
That's still $30 a box of 50 compared to 9mm at $10-$12. If we're just sticking to lever gun cartridges even .38 special $15 a box for 50rds. $30 a box is a big deal if you like shooting a lot.
if I wanted just a fucking rad lever gun id get one of these

I want a 44mag lever gun but I hate the straight stocks which 44mag guns only seems to be available in.
it sucks yeah, ideally everything would be .22 money. but I kinda come from a world of big old bullets that could easily be a dollar or more a piece so 60 cents a round doesn't phase me as much as it does some people.
Wait did the bump stock ruling go into effect already? If so that’s bullshit.
It has not been filed and is not final.
I just don't see how with that ruling it can go into effect by any means. There is no way to bump fire a stock and not "manipulate" the trigger with each pull, you're not sticking mechanism on it to continue firing the trigger without your finger on it. It's already illegal to bump fire with any sort of "mechanical" or outside device to manipulate the trigger.
You are still manipulating your finger in some sense when you use a bump fire, it's your finger, can you dump 30 rounds with a bump fire consistently without messing up? Didn't think so, you're holding and moving your finger which is manipulation. It's like the rotary crank trigger they make, if you hooked up a drill gun to it or a mini motor that fired with a single button press and held automatic fire, that would no longer be manipulation.
I'm no lawyer so please inform me if I'm wrong, but I truly think this ATF ruling really has no potential to hold up in court unless you committed an act of terror while doing it.
picked it up today, going shooting tomorrow

im in love with that fucken receiver
I decided I wanted to get a second slide for my Sig to put taller sights on and basically turn into a dedicated slide for my incoming suppressor. On a whim, I emailed Gray Guns and asked if they had any laying around. The guy I spoke with dug around their warehouse over last weekend and found one for me, with some minor pitting. I asked to get it refinished, and I'd buy it. $100 and a week later, it came in the mail today. I was worried it was TOO dark, but actually it matches the frame pretty closely. I'll get a pic in better light later this week. The new slide is on the left, the factory slide is on the gun.

Picked up a Rem 1903a3 and some stripper clips today to add to my growing collection of impulse buy guns. new barrel on it that the guy got out of the original grease made in 1942 so rifling on it is beautiful, really happy with it.
The gun looks just stunning no gouges or anything on the stock or receiver, action is smooth as glass. Always wanted a 1903 and next is hopefully it's badass baby brother the M1 Garand.

So i've been wanting an AK74 for sometime and found one off of Classic Firearms and bought one before they went out of stock.. AK-74 Rifle, 5.45 x 39 Caliber, Semi-Auto U.S. / Bulgarian, W / ..
It's a James River Armory build with Bulgarian parts.
It came in today and my receipt says it's a Waffen Werkz ...
It doesn't say that anywhere on the page.. The only mention of JRA is on the bottom of the rifle.
