I'd rather pay for Ricochet.
I mean the story I heard is it was Richard Garfield creator of MTG had a concept for a card game with 3 boards and Valve were the people who picked up the idea, he is lead design on it. Supposedly it's a passion project for the Valve employees working on it so I think the plan is make game and just hope people like it. Personally I'm pretty hopeful it will be fun.
This is a passion project that's been worked on since 2013 by the creator of Magic: The Gathering, one that has been confirmed to introduce a bunch of new and interesting gameplay dynamics to a usually stale formula, but I'm sure a bunch of people who haven't played it and are salty that HL3 hasn't come out yet know what's best than industry veterans on every side.
I guess, And if this game getting very likely Positive reviews by critics, then card players can try it out.
The hilarious yet sad thing is, when this game inevitably flops, valve management (as we all know there is a secret management team) will be surprised. just look at everyone in that video- they are dead inside. you can tell just by looking in their eyes and listening to their monotone voices.
This might just be THE most circlejerk thread I've seen on Facepunch in years. Some posts here are on a level of conspirasy theories. just look at everyone in that video- they are dead inside. you can tell just by looking in their eyes and listening to their monotone voices. Yeah, because software developers and designers are the most outgoing people ever! Richard Garfield in interviews constantly stumbles on his own words and it's really clear that he's nervous. Forget stuff like Valve staff at PAX constantly trying to help and coach people they see are excited for the game. Blow it out your ass.
They even got Mike onboard, pretty amazing! https://i.imgur.com/BKPxp55.png
I thought Dota 2 would flop and it's now one of the biggest games of all time. It's still Valve we're talking about here, if it's not brand loyalty and Dota fans that keep it afloat its the endless money they can pump into it.
