in the beta weapons weren't hitscan iirc, and ttk is the highest in a cod, not to mention things like armor (which are present in the heist mode, which lets you tank a good amount more bullets)
Well, it looks like we can finally man some vehicles rather than be on rails in multiplayer. Yeah I can't I'm saying this as someone who only really liked Black Ops II, Modern Warfare, and IW, this looks actually fun. Not $60 fun, but I'll probably find a deal sometime after launch.
i skipped the last cod after infinite warfare was a piece of shit. was gonna skip this one but i do like cod and battle royale games.
ngl this is probably the best take on a battle royale from all of what i'm seeing right here pubg is essentially generic asset flip trash, fortnite is fun but hampered by some serious issues, and all other battle royales are either super underdeveloped and/or only fun for a single match every once and a while
Well shit. I'm not happy with the removal of the Campaign, but I can't deny that this does look interesting... https://www.featurepics.com/StockImage/20090614/man-hanging-from-noose-stock-image-1213574.jpg This is me right now.
i've heard the longer TTK has basically made snipers and shotguns (and a single SMG) crazy overpowered though, simply because those weapons have to have the shortest TTK in the game, or else they'd be totally useless. and also you can put reflex sights on sniper rifles now, so if you do that it's basically like everyone else is playing PUBG while you're playing instagib Quake.
surprising that call of duty is outdoing battlefield as far as players on the map. I think the map might be larger as well?
snipers are only crazy because of quickscoping, basically, and shotguns are a 2 shot kill at most ranges unless you really trick out attachments
That's kind of what I'm thinking. CoD has a thing where a game comes out annually, so a game built around Battle Royale would fade fast once the new game is around the corner. If Acitvision wants this to work, they should keep the next game with a campaign while Black Ops IV should get updates to keep it going.
No campaign and has a battle royal mode. Well looks like I lost all interest I would have had in this game.
So did the "director" for the old battlefield gameplay trailers hop on over to CoD or something? Because feels more like BF than BF.
Not a fan of Call of Duty, at all. But this looks like mindless fun, like an arcadey, actually fun and actually optimised version of PUBG.
The first time ever that I'm interested in the new CoD more than the new Battlefield.
First time I'm interested in a cod game since bo1 Which version would be best to get though?
I'd definitely say to get the PS4 version. PS4 is the "preferred" platform for COD due to Sony's exclusivity contract. They get the DLC's 30 days early (even some of the free updates have content locked behind this 30 day window, at least in the last COD game) and because of that the population is best on PS4. PC can look and run far better of course but the population is an issue, especially since it's not going to be on Steam and that alone will cause many people to not even bother with it. It's likely you won't be able to find populated games in most of the game modes just months after release, if it's like the other COD games.
Damn I'm on PC...
While it's true PC's population is significantly lower than the console versions (this is the case for most games in general with the exception of games that are inherently PC-centric). If you can only have it on PC and you still want to play the game, it's not really a bad deal since you most likely will still be able to play often with a fair bunch of people, and I think that's also accounting for the fact it won't be on Steam. The game will be still on a fairly popular client, because it's the same client that hosts Overwatch and Destiny 2, two of the most popular first person shooters regardless of platform, which makes it still a safe demographic to have a bunch of players on, combine that being a Call of Duty game alone, worst case scenario it will only have 1,000 active players on average. And while there's nothing that says about the quality of the game itself, the game being both a big name franchise and including a game mode that's currently flavor of year, it's definitely gonna attract a lot of players regardless of platform. And as said as well, better controls and graphics is always a plus.
I'm just a bit on the fence because 60 euros for a game that might not even have many players at launch is a bit of a fear. Kind of like mw1r and IW that had pitiful player counts on pc, especially mw1r. Knd of sad because it looks like good arcade fun with loads of modes.
I'll probably pick this up just for the battle royal if it really fast paced. It actually seems legit fun.
it'll have plenty on launch, but don't expect to be able to play every mode a few months down the line
Too worrying imo
but if you see it the other way around, PC will have 30 extra days before its community is split by the DLC
this is why multiplayer games should not have a bunch of game modes available, at least not at all times. have your basic cod modes, tdm, domination and s&d, and have the other modes either rotate weekly or in a playlist. if they don't include a battle royale mode in the next cod chances are you'll be able to play this one for a long time.
yeah been watching a bit, all the pubg players are loving it
