I still can't get over the fact that I remember Noodle when she was a kid and now she grew up and she's hot.
what could they mean by this...
Yeah I've always been surprised by the negative thoughts on it. It's a fantastic album IMO.
I have fond memories of Plastic Beach. I played the shit out of the CD when it dropped. Just wish some of the cut songs were included. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sXZWvrDtVg
I think Plastic Beach is fantastic, it's such an interesting and colorful album. I like The Fall, maybe not as a Gorillaz fan, but as an Albarn fan. Humanz, that really struggles though. The Now Now fucking rocks though, hot damn. Humility is still one of my top Gorillaz songs.
I actually really liked Humanz, but it's insane how much better The Now Now is in comparison when it was released a little more than a year later and all the previous albums had a good 4-7 years between them.
Listen man I think the Now Now's live performances were billions of years better than the studio edition but mmmmmm calling the live one on this better is a stretch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCkFSe3voRc Live version sounds like he's got something in his throat and is a bit off pitch.
This albu has grown on me so much, definitley my favorite after the self titled. I feel like every time I listen to it I feel like I hear something new and crazy in the back that betrays how chilled out it seems on the surface.
Man Ace was really happy to be there. Also I have to say it's pretty funny that my favorite post Plastic Beach Gorillaz song is the sort of apology song for Humanz. (That's Sleeping Powder btw)
I wouldn't call it on par with Demon Days but it certainly takes the No 2 spot.
feel like i'm the only one here but i actually really didn't like this. Honestly personally don't like the new direction Gorillaz are going in. The music seems so secondary now and not as good as previous releases. As well as that, I almost feel like we are getting far to much Gorillaz at once. What the fuck happened to waiting for a new album for like 5 years?
Plastic beach was great tbh. Even Humanz had some nice songs in it even if most of the album kinda missed the mark
Are you... advocating for 5+ year gaps between albums? Like it was a good thing? We waited that long and then some for Humanz and it resulted in a resounding 'eh' from at least 50% of the fanbase so it's not like it's a magical formula. Are you out of your fucking mind?
That's basically just what Damon does. When he wants to he sounds amazing live, but he does things to prove he isn't lip syncing and the result is something that sounds a bit tone deaf.
In Humility when Russel knocks him over his eyes go from white to black, and 2-D goes from perfect balance and a singing voice, to his stumbling black eyed self. It is basically used as a visual key between his singing self, and his cockney accented self.
Are you sure? There are several videos with him singing but with black eyes. https://youtu.be/HyHNuVaZJ-k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzJGWAfmBco
They could be inconsistencies, it could be something more, who knows. It's hard to tell what the intent is with them.
Pretty sure white eyes mean he's possessed.
To me, PB is one of those rare albums I listen to from start to finish or not at all. It was clearly meant to sound like a 'trip.'
Oh no, REAL NOODLE
I believe it's possession cause of how his eyes faded from white to black at the end of Humility after being tripped up by Russel. Also how he wasn't able to skate anymore after his eyes went back to black, though that might just be a coincidence.
Sleeping Powder is actually a music video made by 2D, not a music video literally starring 2D.
obligatory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MBF0ErjMOc
kinda related but not really but i just discovered this is a thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg-haNkPZoQ murdoc is not exactly the person i would have chosen to advertise something
why are the gorillaz so weird, but so good?
Ironically it is better, but for the worst reason
Ah yes, IT DARE
Watching this and Humility, I have to say I enjoy seeing 2-D happy and confident without Murdoc around.
It's almost as if Murdoc is emotionally abusive and ruins every good thing 2D has
