Bumblebee Trailer #2: Optimus Prime Trailer - We G1 now

Holy fuck this looks beautiful. Especially Soundwave. Can't help but wonder what Mr. Bay thinks of these designs.
I was not expecting Shockwave or an entire set of seekers tbh.
What I also like is John Cena is selling the role as the government agent. It's not winning awards, but it's leagues better than outside of memes and c-movie action flicks. Hailee Steinfeld is sure to win audience members over too. It's not just the robot characters in this, but Travis Knight knows how to ring up good human performances too.
Holy fuck we're getting motherfucking WHEELJACK as well?!
There's speculation going around that it's Hasbro who wanted the flashback scenes, because it'd help sell the toys of their next Generations sub-line: War For Cybertron: Siege

They're already putting out images for the masterpiece toyline based on the movie figures (I miss [t][/t])
There's also gonna be a cheaper version in the Studio Series line, which is a toyline that focuses on the Bayformers in terms of details and scale:

The blue Decepticon is also getting his own toy (but not as a triple changer):

I guess the Chinese are starting to wake up and no longer enjoy the big booms and zooms, so now they are gonna pivot and pander to the American nostalgia
Not going to lie, I'd buy a Bumblebee poster in the style of the Siege line. I mean if Star Wars can convince people to buy their Black Series figures than surely some shill like me can open his wallet just a wee bit for a good Bee figure for once Hasbro.
Then again it makes the complaints about Bee taking up entire toy aisles in stores makes the marketing just a tad funny.
I'm sure the third party companies will jump on this and make some fantastic figures.
I still can't believe 3rd party TF companies have made a huge leap in quality and engineering; I've seen some examples of a Bayverse TLK Optimus that seamlessly transforms into both super accurate bot and alt modes.
Unless Hasbro has some trick up their sleeve, the fandom will have to rely on them for proper triple-changing Shatter and Dropkick.
Not to get too offtopic, but yes. DX9-Gewalt is such a good Blitzwing

I haven't been this excited for a Transformer movie since the first Bay film.
So wait the Starscream lookalike is supposed to be Blitzwing?
I'll give that a pass seeing as how I'm fucking pumped to see G1 influence all over this.
I hope this succeeds so we can get a series from this.
No more dumb racial stereotype characatures for transformers made out of metal shavings.
I can not fucking believe they actually chose a director who has been a fan of the franchise from the beginning. I haven't been this optimistic for a transformers film since, like, ever.
It's speculated that Starscream is the one seen on Cybertron with the other jets and Blitzwing is the jetformer on Earth. Reason being is because the one on Cybertron has Starscreams' back panels behind his head while Blitzwing in Bumblebee does not. Though this could easily be chocked up to "Because we're still not entirely safe with making this a reboot."
I find it funny how we're okay with this while the fan sites are just tearing each other apart over which character is who and people used to the Bay films think the G1 design-book does not work. Some even criticized an actor for playing a bit part because he's the temp actor for Prime.
And people thought the SW fans were the crazy ones.
Comparing the CG between earth and Cybertron, the Cybertron stuff definitely looks less polished so I wouldn't be surprised if it's been added later in production and been inspired by the Siege line as opposed to completely new character designs that fuse G1 and Bay like Bee and Blitz.
Yeah this entire time I was thinking "Blitzwing, which one is Blitzwing? Wait THAT's Blitzwing? I thought that was Starscream"
"That starscream design is surprisingly on point. Just from the general shape of the head I knew it was starscream immediately."
People are saying that it probably IS Starscream but he's the big bad sent to clean up the mess and the director just said a name to throw people off.
Not sure if that's possible but I honestly don't even care. Just want this movie to be good. One slight redesign isn't even close to turning me off this movie.
Especially since we know they didn't butcher Starscream because he's clearly on Cybertron standing beside the other Seekers (One of which i'd like to point out is a conehead, Acid Storm specifically.)
Skywarp is to Starscreams right and Thundercracker is seen fighting Prime.
The director also said something about Wheeljack being one of the characters designed for the movie.
Tbh, I'm just happy that the designs are recognizable in general and the general direction this movie seems to be taken.
I mean, wtf are these things.

If you told little boy me back in 07 this was Megatron and Starscream, I would've thought you were full of shit.
Agreed. The designs in the Cybertron scenes are pulled straight from G1 stills.
Part of me wants to be cautious because this all seems too good to be true.
I mean if the Russo Brothers can do the best Marvel movies on so little recognition then I think Bumblebee could stand a chance. Only thing to worry about is how many people will see it because we got a movie based on a book, a DC superhero film, and a Disney sequel based on a Disney film based on a book all in December. That's some tough competition imo.

This is all looking WAY too good to be true. I haven't been this excited for a Transformers property since WFC. Oh my god that Shockwave, he's a dream.
I might just be blind, while I don't see a perfect match between him and Starscream there is one other important thing in one of the screenshots to disprove that it's Blitzwing. If that guy IS Blitzwing by some strange hypothetical, then who is this dude here in the picture with Shockwave, who has Blitzwing's ACTUAL colors?

I could think of 2 reasons:
1.some leaked scripts on 4Chan mentioned that he gets killed at the beginning (initial scene is something like: Blitz finding BB, fight scene then he drops bee from a cliff who gets badly injured and last scans the VW, then apparently Blitz gets killed by the military commanded by Cena's character).
I normally wouldn't trust that but they also mentioned the 'cons gaining the trust of the humans by lying about BB being a criminal, which is what they showed in this trailer.
2.If the movie does well enough to guarantee a reboot of the series, they'd probably prefer to use a more known character in the later movies; perhaps the colour scheme was just probably to gain initial hype/interest.
There's also another rumor going around that the Seeker doesn't even have a name and "Blitzwing" may just be a codename.
Oh yeah they loved using code names for the Michael bay films like in TF1 the tank was named Devastator but kept it in because Bay liked it better than Brawl or with DOTM Wheeljack was named Que because Hasbro did not let them use it. Even better? The production name for Shockwave in that same movie was Blitzwing. Striking similar appearances huh?
I don't think it was too bad, the first 2 movie was good, the last few sucked
The design was good up till they tried too hard 3rd movie onwards
I personally believe that the original intention was to use Starscream, but after they had already designed the model and done some of the filming and CGI work, Paramount cock-blocked them and told them to give the character a different name. This would not be surprising in the least, considering how much movie studio executives and producers often screw things up for no good reason. Hopefully this is the extent of their meddling, and the film is good regardless of the fact that a great starscream design was wasted on a throw-away character.
I just hope this doesn't affect getting hold of VW beetles, I really want one of them in a few years.
& the honda hobbit too...

Dude I guarantee VW Beetles are gonna go up in price. Just look at Camaros after the first Transformers movie. Still see those bumblebee painted fuckers everywhere
God I hope it's not by that much. I wanted a Camaro because of the first film because dumb teen with no license but woo boy they were jacked up in price, and the new models were too flashy even if I could save up.
I really do hope Starscream makes a full appearance, voiced and all (preferably Steve Blum) as Travis did confirm in a recent interview that he is in the Cybertron scene. Which makes it weirder when "Blitzwing" is on Earth and looks like Screamer except with the head exhausts behind him.
Again this can all be a tease like when TF4 they said Galvatron in the film was a new character and was called Cyclonus. Do you think its clever marketing when producers and film crew do this? I mean it works for Star Wars and Marvel but not these movies.
