Man, guy on the right has some serious buns, and helmet-kid got the most shit-eating grin I ever did see. But no, I'm not looking for mail sleeves, I'm specifically talking about doublets with mail sewn into them, since they cover more than just the upper shoulder area, so the lower torso not covered by a modern tactical vest would be safe from stabby-things too.
No, you don't want that. I just told you. You don't want to wear a separate arming doublet weighing another 2kg, limiting mobility and adding even more layers. The mail parts you're talking about are all separate from the arming doublet, but they were sometimes sewn onto it. Mail sleeves and skirts were common. The Germans practically replaced mail haubergeons with separate sleeves and skirts, while the Italians kept the haubergeon but added a separate skirt underneath it. You want just the mail. The arming doublet itself has no use here.
https://youtu.be/ZQG1bHugZRA @Joey Skylynx You been to South Africa recently?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21qZpSJp5W0 I was kinda hoping he would review at least one of these.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7yhQXFKHMc Holy shit Ian's been on a roll recently. First the prototype FG-42, then the Stoner, then the OICW and XM8, then one of the SPIW guns, and now the Federov. Just a few more days until he releases the video on the G11 too.
He did get his hands on a Fedorov a while back, even did a disassembly on it, but his new equipment is much higher quality.

Ian's channel this December is like an advent calendar. Each day a surprise, but you know on the last day it will be something extra special.
I have a friend with a hairstyle just like Ians and I wanted to make a fake G11 video where he pulls out a fake G11 and takes it apart, revealing it is filled with dirt, pointing to pieces of dirt saying "and thats the sear" and stuff like that.
Kraut space magic is too extreme for our eyes and brains to comprehend, so it just makes it piles of dirt.
No not dirt, get a bunch of tiny gears and wires and maybe some small metal plates with hieroglyphs on them.
"And this is the box containing a small kraut demon that controls the select-fire system, it must never be opened lest its wrath destroy us all."
"Of course, as with the Madsen gun, I'm only disassembling the parts that exist primarily in this dimension because YouTube doesn't show footage of the higher planes." Also: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/303559923701121025/525476888471142410/image.jpg If anyone could it would be him.
I want this for April Fools.
Am I the only one worrying about your body hair or regular hair getting stuck between the rings?
As someone who's worn mail briefly: it happens and it hurts, it's very similar to latex gas masks in that regard. The upside is it's mostly only when you're putting it on or taking it off.
You're not wearing it directly on your skin, there's always another layer of clothing underneath. The worst that'll happen to your hair is getting some of the mail's oil on it while you're putting it on.
This is for me like that one thing people have with things with lots of holes in them. Thanks.

It's competing against Bell's V-280 Valor tiltrotor to eventaully replace the Blackhawk. It is the bigger brother to the S-97 Raider which was prototyped to be a potential Kiowa scout helicopter replacement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elh0IM7Zp2U
So the top and bottom propellers cancel out rotation, and the tail is to make it go forward?
Technically it doesn't need the rear prop to make it go forwards. The KA-50/52 has a similar coaxial rotor design with no tail rotor. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a3/Ka-52_at_MAKS-2009.jpg/1920px-Ka-52_at_MAKS-2009.jpg But putting one on the rear makes it go faster than a conventional helicopter. There was a modified Blackhawk that was used as a testbed for this concept a while back. https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/images/x-49-image03.jpg
I guess dual-rotors help somewhat eliminate the problem with helicopters at high speeds, where there's some (And I'm talking out my ass here 'cause I can 1000% not be arsed to look it up) problem with the side of the rotor that is moving against the direction of movement being practically stationary and thus having a lot of aerodynamic funk (science term here) going on which makes flight unstable or something. Counterrotation means this funk is balanced on both sides of the aircraft. I am very likely to be completely wrong about the science here

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the MGR-1 Honest John, a big dumb nuclear armed V2 that we kept in service up to 1991 when we replaced them with new fangled ~guided~ missiles like the MGM-14, which would be like switching from a p51 mustang to a f16 http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/mgr-1a.jpg the west never seemed to appreciate the big dumb rocket like the soviets did, but for a time we had our own big dumb rockets armed with an entirely too dangerous yield for something that was questionably accurate.
That seems like a violation of the INF Treaty
15 miles is intermediate? shit this thing is barely tactical.
