As-per the treaty, short range is between 310–620. I was wrong, it's not in violation because it's shorter than the minimum distance. The banned ranges are 310–3,420 miles (500–5,000km).
its more that the incoming airstream generates lift better on one half of the rotor, creating a rolling torque that then stress the rotor. by putting a second contrarotating rotor you cancel out that torque
It's solid fuelled so nothing like a V2 and it didn't have any accuracy problems. It was plenty accurate for delivering a nuclear weapon.
https://timedotcom.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/sdm-r-1.jpg M110A1 SDMR variant is going through field trials right now. It has a different scope, buttstock, and barrel twist than the CSASS variant. They're also using OSS Helix-QD suppressors on it now.
What's old is new again. https://i0.wp.com/www.defensemedianetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/AH-56-Cheyenne-Airborne1.jpg
This confuses me, because it goes against the typical naming conventions. The Original M110 was based off the SR-25, but the M110A1 is HK417 based? I'm surprised they tacked the A1 onto the end even though it's a completely different gun.
Ian's done the G36. Specifically the MG36E, but the differences are redundant aside from the optic, but he has a demonstration model for that anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQNsZ8Qbd8A
I really want a Tommybuilt G36K
There's something just so interesting about how the G36 looks. Like yeah the Cold War resulted in some funky looking futuristic space guns (looking at you P90 + AUG), but the G36 just cuts in with this cold futuristic look, and it's all because of the optics, carry handle, and handguard. Not much else has hit that mark.
Same here, I've seen some on gunbroker but it was so expensive. They're all in the 3-5 thousand range. That's more realistic than getting an MP7, as in a Tommy Built is obtainable if I had over $5,000.
JDI Firearms is the sole importer of Swiss SG 550s into the US. They're out of stock right now, but it'll pick up again after New Year's. An imported 550 will cost $3450, which is to be expected from these limited runs. https://i.imgur.com/YPjmLOPh.jpg https://www.sanswissarms.com/news.html
I knew they were sold somewhere, I just didn't know where. Sig Sauer's website still advertises them as the PE 90, but does not actually sell them. That was my only hint that they're obtainable.
The most interesting part of this is that the MG36 exists, which has been debated quite a lot. Also did not know it used AK bayonets. icecream
Ian just released a video about a rare 5.56mm Czech AK. https://youtu.be/JnjaGc5Fmwo
ohh yeah, the rifle they were considering adopting, then didn't and went for the CZ 805 instead
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFxw1d6z8dk More MDR reviews are coming out and sadly, it's still shit.
Possibly risk of hot brass piling up in the elbow of shooting hand when fired prone? I don't know.
Just have a laser that evaporates the brass

Memory serving the Nazi one was meant as a decoy to fool Allied surveillance into thinking there were tanks in places they weren't. Because, being German, the Allied solution of just using tank shaped balloons wasn't complicated or expensive enough for their tastes. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YqGn1C98SzM/WOcjrUbPFyI/AAAAAAAAMjI/ym5CYCOUZ5UabKTF_NohyRtz7qjCI8j_QCLcB/s1600/dummy_tanks_2.jpg Despite actually being much more convincing, which really sums up the difference between German and American tank development, Germans spend way too much time and money, and the American stuff works better anyway.
I find the lack of Vespaschreck disturbing https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210171/eab1c60f-d511-4eb7-9293-227b40031001/image.png
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DwWb3J_XcAUG5Rj.jpg Bradley equipped with Iron Fist APS That's an awfully cluttered turret
Its already dead, just leave it alone already.
The layout of the Bradley is kind of weird because they're basically only one guy in the turret. The gunner sits in a basket which is mostly down in the hull but can hoist himself up out the top of the turret if need be, the commander actually sits up in the turret to look out and around. The Bradley basically has the same problem the M16 does: its development was an unmitigated disaster, but it's directly because of that disastrous development that the final product is actually a very solid piece of equipment. http://i.imgur.com/gA0XF.jpg In the Gulf War these bad boys actually blew up more of Saddam's tanks than the Abrams did, while only three Bradleys were themselves destroyed by enemy fire.
Real life greeble.
One of my friends was a Bradley driver when he was in the military. His motor pool buddies used to call them commitie vehicles because of the amount of shit on and in them. Also on his first day as a driver of one, he thought he could take it over a ditch, and instead just went nose down into it and got stuck. The only thing his CO had to say was "Mind the gap".
Clearly this is proof that we need to bring back the original M3 personnel carrier https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7c/M3_half_track_9-08-2008_14-47-56.JPG/769px-M3_half_track_9-08-2008_14-47-56.JPG You see that roller drum hanging off the front? That's an unditching roller, the idea is if you ever nosedive into a ditch all you have to do is floor it and the roller will let you climb right back up. Plus the M3 half track isn't just limited to carrying infantry, if you want it can carry mortars https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3757/9230791619_82846911d6_b.jpg a variety of AA guns https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a7/f4/0a/a7f40a755df3e81f20a10dff6917bba0.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b9/M16-mgmc-CAJ19451112-sc-1.jpg Or if you wanna do tankbusting then here it comes with a 75mm gun! https://www.worldwarphotos.info/wp-content/gallery/usa/armoured-vehicles/m3_halftrack/US_Army_M3_Half-Track_with_75mm_GMC.jpg Want artillery support? Here's a 105mm howitzer https://cdn-live.warthunder.com/uploads/f4/d7/98/81aeea1e2253963c6be7aed9f519bce065/T19+Howitzer+Motor+Carriage+II.png It can even compete with the Bradley's TOW carrying capability, since the Israelis fitted some with 4 SS-11 anti-tank missiles http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eQNPu6zzxaU/TGZ4NmU9czI/AAAAAAAAxqE/Z6UlaNdpP-s/s640/203.jpg For it's hi-hi-hee in the field artillery, call out your numbers loud and strong! Everybody sing! https://youtu.be/4lH28OfEJXI
The development of the M16 was by no means "an unmitigated disaster", please don't pull 'facts' like that out of thin air. The initial deployment of the M16 was where the problems were, nothing at all to do with the development of the system itself.
