Look at him go, like a dog to water.
The thought of putting a loaded gun in my mouth and setting a fire in it gives me shivers.
So I was looking it up and apparently Soviet/Russia snorkels you see there are for training use only. The combat snorkels are only a few inches wide and are designed to be compact enough to carry on the back of a tank. https://i.imgur.com/NwBT4pz.jpg So no escape.
Warning, the following video contains dangerous levels of Hon https://youtu.be/24kPTAKPxO4
Well there is an escape. the IP-4 rebreather is designed as an 'escape mask' for tank crews if they get stuck while fording. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107029/cab2ac90-930a-4579-9d7c-ea4990942da1/image.png But the use of such a mask still involves having to flood your entire tank to get the hatch open, then swimming to the surface. The driver's hole on T-72s and Soviet tanks in general is impossible to get out of at the best of times, let alone underwater, in the dark, while wearing a bulky rebreather. The IP-4 is intended for such a role, but I don't know if they even bother with them. If a tank gets stuck they usually have to wait and be towed out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNIwVxhwLPM LockMart has rebranded an advanced F-16 variant as the F-21 for an Indian fighter jet contract. It works for the Russians so I guess they're trying it here. New things are the missile racks and the F-35-esque digital cockpit.
Nice quality control on this commercial https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1820/240e653b-cb5f-4422-9faa-388a98211e1f/urgay.png
It looks weird having the F-16 loaded down with so many missiles. It's like stacking luggage on the trunk rack of a sportscar.

New "experimental" multicam that's being worked on by a few gopni/k/s with a dream: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/527/82b686b5-abdc-4be3-8a34-bdeb1f5896a0/1550546441512.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/527/ef4390da-87df-4b07-89a8-683063fbf574/1550535064549.jpg
Imagine a ghille suit
https://youtu.be/-ykmqUFJWAw Are we allowed to call other guns "kraut space magic"? Because I think this one qualifies.

Makes sense considering older prototypes had weighted plates where the new armor went to simulate how it affected the balance of the turret. http://imagesvc.timeincapp.com/v3/foundry/image/?q=60&url=https%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com%2Fthe-drive-cms-content-staging%2Fmessage-editor%252F1550862675151-armor-1.jpg
some times I wonder are there any significant difference between modern MBTs i.e. Abrams, Challenger 2 and Leopard 2. They kinda looks the same, and seems to perform the same?
The majority of the current generation of western tanks are based on the same design. Back in the 60s NATO tried to develop a universal main tank to serve all countries, it was called the MBT/KPz 70. The project fell apart and everyone basically took a prototype and went home, so the Abrams, Leopard 2, and K1-88 are all based on that same design; similarly the Merkava and Challenger are both based on the Chieftan. Additionally the majority of western MBTs use the Rheinmetall RH-120 cannon or a derivative thereof. On the flipside the majority of battle tanks from former or current eastern bloc nations are derived from either the T-72 or T-80, and use guns based on the 2A46 125m cannon; such as the Crotian Degman, the Serbian M84, the Ukrainian T84, Polish Twardy, Russian T-90, and Chinese Type-99.
Where the fuck are the hover tanks future magazines promised us?
Probably Poland, because it looks like the Combine are there already. http://www.military-today.com/tanks/pl_01.jpg
https://defence-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/DHMRk6JXkAMmW_-min.jpg The Russians seem to be moving towards using "Soft" ERA for sideskirt armor which is supposed to handle bumps and collisions better than the standard hard ERA brick. This is probably due to the T72's experience in Syria (and Ukraine to some extent) where the sideskirt ERA would often get mangled by bumps in an urban environment. http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/jk.png https://017qndpynh-flywheel.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Image-1.jpg

I've seen pictures of those things in the past but I think this is the first publicly available footage of one firing. Holy shit it's actually still rocket propelled and even has a backblast, I was hoping they were smart enough to just make it a grenade launcher based on the RPG, not actually a rocket launching tube.
