Yep, part of Operation Greif, a plan to fight dirty and capture a bridge. They wanted to use all US vehicles and uniforms for the job, but when the request for American Tanks came through, the entirety of the Wehrmacht was only able to offer up two broken Shermans, so they improvised by modifying Panther tanks to look like an M10 Tank Destroyer in passing. They did muster dozens of troops who could speak fluent American English and some even spent time in POW camps to freshen up on their speech skills. Donning American uniforms and weapons, they would misdirect jeeps and convoys, or carry out sabotage on supply depots. They always removed their uniforms before engaging in combat so they wouldn't be executed as war criminals, but most didn't survive anyway. The operation did achieve a side goal of spreading paranoia through US ranks, several US Soldiers were killed by paranoid GI's who couldn't be convinced that they weren't infiltrators, and even high ranking officers (including a General) were held prisoner by GI's for failing trivia questions. A British Colonel was also locked in a barn after his staff car was shot up because he refused to play trivia, and the furious Colonel wasn't released until a British soldier recognized him.

The most significant changes are the new BUIS, pistol grip, longer cheekpiece, and the charging handle being reversible and its position moved back a bit.

Beautiful gun, and the sound it makes is great. I don't know if that's because of the barrel setup and the flash hider, or what. But it makes me really anxious for my barrel to get here...

The New South Wales government has introduced new laws requiring the Lithgow Small Arms Museum, the museum that houses basically every military prototype firearm developed in Australia, to deactivate all their semi-auto and automatic firearms. Obscene.
I hope the museum packs up and moves interstate rather than destroys their collection if bids to stop this fails.
There's a petition, I'm not sure how much good it will do for international signatures though.
