Good job jinxing everything!
I'M SO SORRY! I didn't mean to kill the forums.
Is embedding links not working for anyone else? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58119/c7a8f6f7-41cb-484a-b0e7-ee8c3f6b85af/image.png
I've tried embedding stuff from several different places (Twitter and articles) and the only one I can get to work in Youtube videos.
I just want to know how it broke and if we lost anything
was that just a test to see if you could shut down the site without people noticing
I honestly think that just communicating changes ahead of time and explaining justifications would be a big improvement in everyone's day to day forum use.. I think despite how people generally talk about Garry, they actually do trust him decently well. He's not some shadow leader of an organization that is unapproachable. He obviously can't be present everywhere on the forum but he does make an effort to show up every now and then which is more than what most major companies do. And i think that would also help Garry make the right changes when he's thinking them out and taking the time to actually write what prompted the change. People are always going to complain about change. That will always happen. But i think if people can be sold on some of the ideas and having Garry write out what his objectives with a change are and then we'd know how to respond directly with feedback specifically tailored to what the results of the change were with the intention in mind. I'm sure it isn't easy for him to have made this whole new forum from scratch and continue to work on it. But we really do appreciate the forums. I think that much is clear and does not need said. All I'm saying is that Garry trusts us too to be part of the process for when he has a change in mind.
I cannot find a single video thread on the first page of GD. Whoever thought this was a good idea - it wasn't. The issue with FP's subforums historically has been lack of user input in administrative decisions. I'm not sure where the cognitive dissonance is coming from where you blame users for not giving valuable feedback/making a big enough noise, and then going and subverting the whole process of getting user feedback when making forum changes. You guys can't have it both ways.
Uh hey long time lurker here, I've been trying to migrate my 5 year old account from oldpunch (same name as this one) through the authentication thing and I can't for the life of me remember the password. I know I'm late to the party but can a mod help me with this? If it's impossible to get it back I'm okay with that. Thanks.

It looks like some threads just up and disappeared for no reason? Where the fuck is Super Friendly Social and Love Advice? I can find it with search but clicking on the result returns an error?
we back bois
So what the fuck happened, I was legitimately worried.
I got it migrated by digging deep inside my mind, thanks for replying anyway. I solved the problem an hour or so ago and I was going to edit the post clarifying that I did just that, but apparently you can't edit posts anymore? Or is that a post count thing like how it used to be in oldpunch (50 posts would grant you the ability to use ratings)? Anyways, does it take a long time to get the join date, level and coins sorted after migrating?
I actually made that version as a gag. The original gif is from a fashion article or something. I sent it to a few people, including hezzy over twitter
I do think it was best we had the Video section, it was nice shifting though that side of FP with a mix of both popular, middlesidded works and projects made by our community. Hopefully we get it back.
I could at least see the reasoning behind consolidating Fast Threads with General Chat, seeing as it was basically just "that subforum WAYT and LMAOpics are on", but Videos forum was both widely popular as well as focused. Now General is just a shitshow of threads of varying style and it's hard to cull to see video postings or forum related discussion.
Just make sure it recognizes "its" this time because I am still recovering.
please bring back video section :c
assuming this statistic is accurate and polls 7 days from when you view it rather than only counting days as they come week to week, this is pretty appalling https://i.imgur.com/zrNI59k.png
doesn't that also reflect people who delete their accounts and the numerous threads getting deleted with the subforum merges?
Can't wait until Garry comes back in seven months, looks at General, goes "Look at how cluttered this is, who would design something like this?" unironically, and then changes a bunch of stuff, half of which for no rhyme or reason.
Hey all, this is probably the least important thing right now. But I've made a thread in the past in where I post about a racecar I've been building the past 3 years. I've put quite a bit of text and stories in there. It was in the automotive section and has since been removed. Would it be possible to get it back?
by the looks of your account history. The posts still exist hopefully hezzy can get to this

lmao wot, go this just now - i need some clocks up in here https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/238864/9dd19316-29a9-4c49-86f9-5dd501f9759c/fpbreech.png
Was that one of those times the vbulletin announcement system ran XSS on users? Wasn't it easily avoidable, like you were fine if you didn't click on it or something?
The announcement was only visible inside subforums iirc, so people who exclusively used popular/read/subscribed in that time were safe. It also relied on your browser automatically filling the username/password field when it saw it, so if you didn't have your credentials saved, it wouldn't work. People originally said it wouldn't happen if your browser didn't autofill without you pressing a button, but i never pressed anything and i'm part of the leak, so...
Including an entire weekend when facepunch was down... Wait another week to get more accurate results.
Some users still aren't aware that FP is back or are just now becoming aware, it's not really a fair metric to go by at the moment.
