I did end up responding to your argument that people were taking the marketing too seriously
The way this game, Fallout 76, is being portrayed leads me to believe I wouldn't enjoy it and think it's overall an example of a poor trend in gaming and game development.
im more hyped about Fallout 4: New Vegas than this
this game looks like someone shoved the FO4 source code and assets from BGS into a different studio's face and said "your main goal is to make it multiplayer, and make it work"
They own and have full access to the source code yet that netcode and sync looks slightly better than New Vegas Multiplayer. Good job bethesda.
Shit that's a thing? I'd rather pay $60 for that than this MMO garbage.
What's the status on FO4: NV?
That was brutally dull. I remember when people balked at New Vegas' for just being a "Fallout 3 spinoff" made by another company.
Well, this is what you get when Bethesda makes a spinoff on their own game.
missed a chance of having a AAA fallout rust clone. Instead you get something that I would expect from a multiplayer morrowind mod from 10 years ago.
They just released a teaser showing off the first few minutes in Doc Mitchell's house, with character creation and skills/traits/SPECIAL initialization. Not sure how far they are in recreating the rest of the world or its quests, but they seem to be full steam ahead despite getting the red-light on carrying over the original voice actors' performances. But since they do have to re-voice the NPCs, it'll likely take some more time.
Is the video in the op coming up as unavailable to anyone else?
I'm trying to link it to a friend but it looks like it's been taken down.
For good reason probably, lol.
