This outage brought back memories of when the database used to die years ago. I saw that disco ball and was immediately like "The database is down, are you? Get down right now!"
Praise be to Garry! ...or Microsoft ...or whoever fixed the issue!
(But, yeah, real talk I was legit feeling kinda antsy at times with FP being so ingrained into my online browsing routine lol)

Honestly I'm going to miss the activity Discord had. The shitposting in Polidicks along with Voice Chat was an experience that I hope to see again soon.
FP/garry don't work over the weekend I presume
Basically MS Azure (the thing that Facepunch runs on) had an outage and pretty much broke everything. Not just the forums, but even the main site, as Garry kept everything Facepunch running on Azure.
My voice chat experience was 35% awesome chats with internet friendos, 65% deafening micspam
Signed up for the Discord as soon as these forums got back up because when they went down I noticed how dead r/facepunch is.
Real talk, Facepunch's outage combined with the mass panic that followed from fear of it dying actually got me to finally grow a pair of balls and start adding people. Even if I didn't know them at all, I still had a sense of belonging thanks to this forum.
Thank god it's back. I built a 20 cubic foot birdcage while it was down. A tiny, 30 gram bird does not need 20 cubic feet.
@Hezzy some parts are still down, can't see Videos and that kind of crap.

I've been here since 2010 mostly lurking in the shadows except for the mapping subforum and this place really has grown onto me. As everyone else says, these forums feel so much friendlier and down to earth than Reddit or Imgur. All the posters are just names on a screen really. In contrast to here, you can actually easily recognize users and already have an idea what their posting habits are.
I really hope Garry will keep this place around, I honestly can't miss it.

I've been absentmindedly clicking on my FP bookmark for the last two days and have now developed a deadly fear of disco balls which no therapist can cure.
