Unpopular Opinions V. FP should go down more often

While I wouldn't go as far to say that, I do think the game is overhyped. Despite it's great art design and theme, there's just a lot of little gameplay gripes about the game that bother me. From frustrating enemies and bosses (Even for Souls standards), shallow build variety, and even little things like not being able to rest at Lanterns. The game just doesn't strike the right cords for me that the Dark Souls games do.(Hell, I much prefer Nioh to BB)
That being said though, I still actually really like the game and have played through it multiple times
The recommendation to 'just stop playing' if you're getting frustrated at a game isn't helpful at all and just makes one feel far worse.
If I've spent a considerable amount of time playing an online game in a sitting, just stopping and walking away doesn't help me calm down or destress, it makes me feel bitter and even more stressed because I ended on a bad note and quit without anything to show for my effort.
If I'm particularly devoted to a game/match, it's on par with 'it's just a game' in terms of brands of backhanded 'reassurance.'
A lot of memes that I see come out of 4chan seems to be some effort to bait people based on their own insecurities or need to feel "authentic" as a person. That virgin walk one was such bullshit, the
chad stride was a perfect response.
Honestly I really liked the "click to kill" thing in AC Brotherhood, but that's because at that point everyone was kind of sick of the slower and more prolonged AC2 combat and it also made sense in universe, the game takes place at the point where Ezio is supposed to be a super badass assassin, you really feel that way too coming out of AC2. It basically just turned the combat up to eleven and now you could take on dozens of guys at the same time while you were used to a handful before.
But it did get really boring after literally every single AC game after Brotherhood did the same thing, though I haven't played Origins or the new one.
Also as far as death in video games go I funnily enough specifically like games that let the player be a villainous mustache twirling genocide machine.
Dark souls sucks
Paris feels like a shit hole.
to be fair most capitals do apart from a few nice districts
I think about this sometimes, how if it were realistic, every single person would have had a life. They would have had 20, 30, 40 years experience, ended in a second without warning. Especially in regards to stealth kills. Stealth kills are just weird to think about, like if you were that guard, you're just alive and doing your daily patrol, and then suddenly you just cease to exist so fast you don't even know.
Australia bans Black Flag.
It would be sorta OK if masked by a permanent black notification bar, so you can still have time etc at the absolute top of the screen without seeing the notch
but even then you aren't saving shit for space, it's just pointless as fuck
It's a fucking forum. You're supposed to be here for the people, not the platform.
I don't play videogames to be particularly challenged. I'm not saying I expect them to be a cakewalk or anything - but I don't want to be literally pulling my hair out over them either, because video games are one of the ways I help manage stress and anxiety. In fact, I've learned to take a break from a game if I'm having a really tough time with one objective or challenge. Sometimes I end up dropping a game entirely because of that. One of the most prominent examples I can think of is Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I fucking gave up and sold the game after failing the carrot eating minigames a dozen times. In fact, any game that shoves a bullshit minigame in the middle of decent gameplay usually loses my interest right there.
I also have no interest wasting my time with any game that is tough because of bad design choices, ai, or anything else that is the fault of the people who made the game rather than your own lack of skill. I'm honestly not sure whether I'm going to finish Wolfenstein: The New Order, because the final boss is the absolute worst piece of shit I've ever fought in an FPS. I've watched a video of how many rounds of ammo it actually takes to beat the damn thing. It's obscene. That's not good game design, that's cheap bullshit to pad out a boss that otherwise is extremely unimpressive. (he does the exact same thing from the beginning of the boss fight to the very end, right down to the animations. What a joke.)
Needless to say, I am never, ever trying a Soulsborne game. I'm not saying they're bad. I've never played them. I just know they won't be for me, because I'm just not that good at video games, and I don't have the time, patience, or discipline to get better at something that I do solely for fun. Never trying another competitive multiplayer FPS again, either. I'll stick with casual TF2 until the day it dies (which may be never, considering that there are still people playing the original counterstrike after nearly two decades).
just because your posting is getting old doesn't mean everyone else need to stop too.
That guy's always shitposting, I wouldn't pay him too much attention.
The normalization of getting drunk is absurd
People have been getting regularly wasted for literally tens of thousands of years
Doesn't make it less absurd, it makes people do things they wouldn't even think of if they weren't. I think its a very dangerous drug, and its not a good thing that being wasted is so normalized, to the point where if you dont do it, you get ridiculed.
Between bad and worse, i'd just not decide.
Alcohol is fun if you allow yourself to have enough to make you silly but not so much that you lose control. Like all good but potentially dangerous things, moderation is key.
You can drink without getting too drunk, im talking about getting drunk, wasted, fucked up you name it.
The amount a person drinks are often glorified.
would you rather be unremarkable or incredibly dumb?
oh never mind, you've clearly decided on that one
Dunno where you live but I've never heard about this concept of glorifying getting wasted. Mostly everyone likes a drink or two but nobody ever went "eyo you better get shitfaced otherwise there's no point in it, it'll be fun to puke your guts out and forget about it the next day when you're too sick to do anything!"
Getting wasted is not normal nor is it becoming the norm
welcome to norway where getting hung over EVERY weekend is pretty common for many young people
I can attest to that Norway has a problem with a toxic drinking culture among today's youth. There is this constant glorification of getting shitfaced whenever possible on social media and among social groups. High school was rife with competition on who got the most wasted the night prior.
Now, I admit I like getting drunk when in good company, but I do so out of my own volition, and not because I'm pressured to. I waited until I was 18, the minimal legal drinking age before I indulged in alcohol, and resisted any temptations or peer pressure up until then. But it isn't easy at all.
I'm not sure on any solutions, but I do my best to stress the importance of moderation and control when I can.
No, I don't care if God himself tells me she's "balanced", Mei is still one of the most obnoxious, and not-so-thought-out characters in any game ever. At least game mechanic wise.
Articulated figures >>>>> non-articulated figures. Why pay $100+ for a 7in statue when you can have one the has freaking joints and 1000 photo and video possibilities?
Dark Souls would make a fine ass line, and all we get is this:

Fuckin Booooooooooo!!
You forgot to mention people saying stupid, cripplingly unfunny shit like "mei is bae". And that her voice acting and dialogue is enough to make a cancer patient suddenly wish they had less time on Earth the second they hear her speak. Also, the video Blizzard made for her just makes her even more hateable because she doesn't pull off the "so dorky it's cute!" card that everyone thinks she does. Blizzard also has an ultra-generic way of writing, which just adds to the negativity.
Also when ever she speaks mandarin(?) she sounds constipated
Wasted/fucked up culture in the US is pretty damn big. Like, every time I hear any story about a party from a friend/family member its about either them or someone they knew getting super fucking wasted. It's a badge of honor and a conversation piece.
I feel ya, know the situation there is very similar, though luckily smoking is on a hard decline here in norway, mostly because snus is the cool thing.
