thats mostly due to the legendary enemies that get stupid amounts of health though, anything else never really felt bullet sponge to me
Playing RDR2 has made me think a lot about how embarrassing Bethesda's games actually are
They only reason they use the engine is because they're used to it and it lets them churn out worldspaces quickly
the only thing i was a bit excited for was the map. i like country/heavily wooded maps like 76 has than urban, even better since 4 ran like dogshit in the city no matter how good your PC is, so not having a city in the map would hopefully mean good framerate across the board.
Honestly? Maybe the game will come into its own when a proper SDK is released.
Almost a billion bux in sales off one hyerjanky title buys a lot of tissues and counseling.
I had no expectations and I'm still let down
Literally the only good thing about fallout 76 will be modders ripping assets and putting them in fallout 4.
at least there's new california
I still cant shake of the feeling that this might have originally started as a battleroyale game. Didn't work out with the old engine so they toned it down to some MP game but didn't really have time to make it more then what we got now.
Fallout 76 is some monkey paw bullshit. >I want a co-op Bethesda game >granted, but it's devoid of any redemable rpg elements, performance is absolutely atrocious, modding is cut out, and people can grief you eternally
"This game will kill Rust. It's got more story and better fps What more could you want?" -Todd Howard on Fallout 76 2018
I don't really know what any of this means but for my part, I know a lot of people who wanted a regular Fallout game that you could just play with a friend or two. No one I know wanted this pseudo MMO.
if anything that should be the focus because Bethesda can't make a game for shit, world building is their only quality and even then they aren't even that good at it
I do, I have big expectations for them to fuck up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMKyVI1MgXs oh god its even worse. Everythings tied to the framerate. Oh god. OH GOD
Shit tied to frame rate screams “fucking awful port”.
Place your bets on how long after launch before people figure out how to break the game wide open and spawn nukes willy nilly, ala GTAV with its orbital canons.
How long until someone uses overclocking + ini modded hyper low graphics to really fuck with shit
Still watching it but man this guy has no idea how to properly set up his mic.
With so many solid open world games, Fallout games don't have any valid excuse as to why they're so buggy. Yeah, Red Dead has realistic horse dicks, but it doesn't play like it's in constant early access.
Personally I think that the entire premise of the game was just lazy as fuck in the first place and was an even more of a handout to the community for the devs to do the absolute bare minimum possible. That would not have been the case if the world was stuffed to the brim with shit to do solo simultaneously.
I agree with a lot of his points but the whole "my pc is good bad performance ree" was kind of amusing. The early access thing that the devs straight up said would be buggy as shit and have issues is buggy and has issues who would've guessed? Turns quality down complains about quality ?
I'd give it a month at most. The fact that the game is essentially running on a modified version of Fallout 4 will certainly help the community break into the game faster.
im talking about the loose physics based items in the world; not about containers (which is the word you're looking for btw bro).
Not long. The problem with this kind of bug (and keep in mind - I am talking out of my ass here) is that it's pretty low level. Hard to fix. See the reason why hacks are so rampant in GTA Online is because the game uses a peer to peer networking system. Everythings clientside. It would take considerable resources to fix this. Keep in mind that this speedhack was found by accident. I fear we may see the same kind of shit for F76. I dread what someone with actual knowledge on reverse engineering will be able to do
all bethesda games have their physics tied to the framerate, so it has to run at 60 fps, if you go over or below, the game kind of breaks
Its also a lot more fun that way. Looking for tiny quest items amidst the wreckage in the aftermath of a localized indoor hurricane, and having ordinary conversations next to an active poltergeist made Skyrim way more entertaining to play.
Have they never heard of using delta time to control movement? I guess locking it to a certain amount per frame is easier when it comes to enforcing limits but if the FPS can vary so easily then it just moves the exploit from frametime to framerate.
There are still human-like NPCs that use guns and melee
