I find it hilarious how out of touch they are with this. They stripped out all the gameplay elements that make Fallout 4 a fallout game. Imagine Fallout 4 with no human NPCs and no quests, it'd be like it's own circle of hell.
I doubt it. Development started in its earlier stages during FO4s development.
It has quests that are on par with radiant quests, let's not be picky about semantics. It's like F4 if all you could do is make settlements, dungeon crawl and play radiant quests. I: F4 with only the diversion content.
Some of the ported FO4 assets are not 1:1. A lot of the old assets actually have new textures. Some of the weapons have new sounds, the 10MM sounds a lot better.
Radiant quests aren't quests. They are randomly generated objectives with zero substance to them. If I can't tell the difference between Fallout 4's randomly generated filler content, and the actual "main quest" of fallout 76, then I think it's misleading to say "it has quests!" and leave it at that. It's essentially a lie of omission.
Some of this guy's complaints are... I don't know. They seem like they make sense, but as I think critically about them I can't help but think they don't make any logical sense. E.G. when he complains about building things, "I'm using a keyboard and mouse why are you making me use so many keys why didn't you code a proper ui" is like, what? "There's this really cumbersome menu where I need to use the Z key and the C key to change something, I need to use the arrow keys up and down to change things. There's literally a keyboard and mouse that I'm holding in my fucking hand and I'm not allowed to use it. I need to like, press these weird keys to scroll through options because they were too lazy to take the console controllers and provide me with something they should have provided." I think I understand his point but he needs to word it way, way better than he is because as it stands this makes no goddamned sense. "Please let me use my keyboard and mouse properly by the way fuck you for making me use such ARCANE THINGS as Z, C, and arrows."
I found the controls extremely cumbersome, so I understand what he's trying to say.
its out in less than 2 weeks there is very little they can fix in that time especially when most of the issues are tied to to the engine
I’ve got two burning questions about fo76. 1. Can you prop surf like you used to in fo4 and 2. Can you put trash cans on top of enemies and players?
As far I've noticed you can't move physics objects anyway other than walking over them or shooting.
Telekinetic wastelanders haven't evolved yet
They still didn't decouple the games logic from the FPS, which is a remarkable bad achievement considering this is a multiplayer game. You can actually still disable V-Sync and give your self speed hacks from what I've heard
this isn't a proper haiku "This game will kill Rust It's got more story and frames What more could you want?"
yeah, and you can come back to base and dump all your stuff out and go through it...that does sound neat. That being said, I'm bummed we got "new fallout bigger than fallout 4" but there's not really any story or anything...despite all the cool new enemies and stuff.
Actually, these might be worse than radiant quests, because at least in F4 when you go back on completion of the quest, you get some speech options and some quips from an actual human NPC with voiced dialogue. Now there are no human NPCs and the HUD just tells you "good job." What an utterly devoid and meaningless experience.
They honestly sound like the generic World Quests you get in world of warcraft. At top level, zones will be dashed with a few spots with simple objectives that you can do once a day. You show up, a voice-over gives you orders and a bit of context as to why you need to do what you are doing, you complete an objective, get a reward, a voice over says good job. "Oh no, these demons are getting close to town, slay them and close their portals.", so you kill 10 demons and shut 2 portals, and get "GG hero, have some gold". Only in wow- World quests are supplemental content designed as a way to grind for reputation rewards and gold- not the bulk of the game's content.
I was antsy on this from the moment it was announced and it's already looking way worse than i could have imagined. Come on Bethesda, all i've seen people asking for for decades has been "give us a FO/TES but co-op", that's it. That's all we want. You could have literally released FO4 but co-op or the billionth version of Skyrim and made actual truck loads of money but you give us THIS? I've excused a lot of Bethesda jank over the years but this is just embarrasing.
This. I believe that everyone should be allowed to like whatever they do and whatnot, but I actively want to discourage people from buying shit like this. Bethesda is a direct cause of people accepting low quality standards for games. And people will just buy whatever says "Fallout" or "Elder Scrolls" on it because of its name. And it encourages them not to care. It's awful.
i did the pre-order/redeem code/cancel order trick to play the beta and was dialing back the hype significantly, expecting it to be kinda shitty given all the negative talk about the game then i played it today and had fun and want to play it again. what gives?
