Thank god we can skip. I've noticed with a lot of content creators who do long-form video essays tend to add in these sketches to give it a surrealist comedic flair, but it always falls flat for me. They might be good at research but they have no sense of timing and the mantra of "short and sweet" seems alien to them.
I think they do it to keep your attention span going. It's sort of like how the first 15 seconds of a video has to be catchy or most people will just close out of it.
I'm gunna watch the video but since it's an hour and a half, god its gunna be a while. But in the meantime I just spent ages looking this video up in my history. Like I said, havent watched the video in OP yet but I have a feeling this is a 12 minute version that gets the same message across https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5LzIOgQKBo
Idubbz said nigger faggot because some insane dude called him it, he wasn't saying it because it was fun to say. Also the guy wasn't saying it was immoral to smoke or drink around others, it was because ethan blames his shitty counter argument over being drunk.
You should see the 11part series on chris chan, each amounting to 45+ minutes of content
Yeah, but Chris-chan has years of history, and is better documented than most anyone ever.
please stop making posts that are legitimately bannable and then banning people who swing back at you with all the force of a wet noodle
Jesus christ, I thought the 13th amendment made it illegal to own people like this
Nah listen, the best type of bullshit of that kind is the dude that made a 8 hour response to a video that was 30-45 minutes explaining why Dark Souls 2 wasn't that bad.

1.5 h isnt even that long for a youtube video. I have once watched, in full, a review of elder scrolls oblivion that somebody posted here that was 5 hours long. I have never played oblivion or any bethesda game in my life.
I started to sense there was something wrong with Ethan when he would talk some major shit about some other youtubers (most of it I would kind of agree with) and then right after act like they're best friends and it's all a joke And I'm starting to feel like youtube drama is some kind of black hole that manages to destroy anything it touches because I've seen so many channels end up bad once they go down that road
you're an idiot
your*
I can't report you because of this broken website mind banning yourself thanks.
its only that long because he does the classic tactic of deconstructing every single word of every single half sentence hbomberguy says and spending 10 minutes pseudo-rambling about it EACH.
I knew they ran out of content and got into stupid drama but I didn't know he was so shitty to some of their guests, jeez.
So we can have full blown trolls threadshitting on polidicks and sensational headlines but calling out a mod for being a complete idiot is ban worthy?
He basically goes line-by-line though, the more ideal thing probably would be to make a shorter video that hits the key points, and linking an essay novel in the description w/ your line-by-line analysis. "The Eminem of Youtube" is honestly such a fantastic metaphor.
The thing is, that series isn't just about arguing against the video, he transcribed the entire thing, breaks it down sentence by sentence, sorts every single thing hbomberguy said into true, partially true or false and provides counters to everything in the latter two categories. It's honestly an impressive level of dedication.
it's like that 4 hour kingdom hearts lecture sometimes you just put a super long video on and enjoy the ride while you also maybe do other stuff
I mean, nobody forces you to watch it all in one go. I remember watching some long video about some video game and just watching it 10 minutes at a time or something. I can understand why people don't wanna spend their time that way though, when I had an 8 to 16 job I didn't do that either.
I actually enjoy this dude's analyses. Treat them like livestreams, put them on your second monitor and do something else in the meantime.
fuckin ethan thinking he could take on a veteran cellar crowd ballbuster like bill burr is hilarious
I'm gonna play armchair psychologist for a moment here and say ethan probably isn't a bad guy but his insecurity is causing him to overcompensate to keep up appearances in front of so many people and that's why he ends up coming off as being so arrogant And I hope either himself or someone close to him can get him to snap out of this downward spiral he's in and go back to being the guy he used to be
I think the political segment was sort of... weird. I can see the reasoning behind it but the way it was constructed felt like some small attempt to push the video maker's own views.
Watched the entire thing cause I had nothing else better to do. I'm not sure why people say Ethan can come out of this rut. People very rarely change, I think he was raised to be like this with no consequences, and his fans try to rationalize everything he does way too much. This kind of manipulation and hypocrisy was always a part of him and it just came out the more successful he got. It will always be with him even if he goes back to his "old ways".
I still like Ethan and Hila and tune in to all their podcasts :/
That 4 hour Kingdom Heart lecture doesn't even get over covering how fucking stupid Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance get, it could have been LONGER. BBS Retcons literally everything established about keyblades, how worlds work, and has a stupid plot device written by someone who doesn't know how  χ is pronounced. Dream Drop Distance RETCONS THE ANTAGONIST'S OWN PLAN FROM THE PREVIOUS GAME. Then proceeds to delete himself from the timeline at 13 different points (Different versions of himself included). It takes like, 30 seconds for even the most unobservant player to realize "Oh hey buddy, you doing this to the timeline means literally none of the games except for a shitty F2P mobile disaster of a game happen"
In the middle of watching it right now, at the Jontron portion, oh god this hurts to watch. Video is excellent, but watching ethan just hammer jon where he makes the same statements over and over again for some arbitrary goodboy points is just painful to sit through.
