I don't get it. What's so bad about sub-forums? Why is there a need to remove sub-forums and collate all of the miscellaneous threads into one sub-forum?

I'd bet the number of videos posted is dropping, and the number of people viewing and engaging in discussion on the videos are way down as well

This. Videos I've seen on General get pretty much ignored, so I've stopped posting videos on this website altogether.
how does he intend to gauge whether it's a good change or is this going to be another episode of "threaten to close the forums if people dare to complain"
step 1: have extremely active videos subforum
step 2: remove it and dont mention where users are supposed to post videos
step 3: claim that video posts and discussion of videos is overall low
step 4: use that to justify not re-adding the videos subforum

there straight up is way less. less discussion, and less videos being posted.
is this some sort of joke by garry? because none of his actions make sense, and the fact that he's continuing to ignore the community and its wishes is awful.
Because people pointed out that the subs that Garry made were too specific and megathreads worked better in most situations, so he gave us a big fuck you and removed ALL subforums. even ones that worked well like the videos was removed.

That's how I see Garry when it comes to the video sub-forum removal.
Just want to say this is the type of communication I'd really like to see more of, @Hezzy . Cut and dry, direct, posted in it's own thread for it's own discussion to spawn. I couldn't possibly wrap my head around why there was no video subforum before, but now I'm just keen to ride this change out and (hopefully) get the subforum back in a month or two.

In that case we could just simply take over it and have a video subforum (except in name). I'd imagine active users would quickly get used to posting there.

I relied on the videos subforum to bring me shit from youtube that I hadn't seen because youtube's algorithm was shit. I don't click on any of the video threads in general. Also this thread title clickbait with no new information actually made me mad.

Garry has been actively removing parts of the forum either because "he doesn't understand why people use it, therefore has no use" or "just because he doesn't like doing things that way" despite the fact that his community has been doing that way for at least a decade, and then gets all confused as to why people are leaving en masse.
I appreciate it. I mostly lurked around in videos before which is why I feel the need to say anything. I don't post many other places anymore though.
I find it weird that everyone except garry, including his own mods, universally think this is a bad idea and he still fuckin does it.
