as i stated in my campaign platform, actually listening to the users and their input on the moderation process is going to be one of the foundations of my mandate. it's very important that the users - the people of this forum - have a say in what type of content they want to see and whom should participate.
facepunch is going through many trials. the dwindling userbase, the current climate of political attrition, anime avatars being made officially legal, these are difficult times, no doubt.
i know you well. you love our forums, you're proud of our history, you respect our culture. but fear not: this is a really incredible time for your forums. this is a truly amazing period of time. we have the best moderation team in the history of our forums (im in it).
threads are being created. posts are pouring back into the facepunch forums.
we are putting your great moderators and lmaopicsposters back to work.
we're reclaiming our forums' proud shitposting heritage and banning morons who go over the line and advertise rust servers. not fair, not fair.
as hezzy once said a long time ago, we believe in facepunch moderation for facepunch users, rust subforums for rust players and polidicks for the folks who really want it.
and as we speak, SIRIUS, Taliyah, and myon - and we love all users right? but they have to stop doign what theyre doing and get rid of their old posting habits and political stances. they showed up in the moderation team. where the hell did they come from?

because things are happening. let me tell you just really quickly about something that did happen. so last week, you probably saw it, because it got posts, taliyah made a thread about the event hub.
but you saw it, i wasn't there. it was me and hezzy, on a private discord chat, fantastic chat room, much smaller than this, but a great means of communication. we had no one there, but we talked. and the enthusiasm, i hate to tell you, the enthusiasm i had then, is the same i have now. can't get any more, right?
know this - we will never give up. we will never give in. we will never back down. and we will fight on to victory. we will have only victory, because we are facepunch and our hearts bleed red and white.

Fwiw I do have my reservations about Sirius being a mod for kinda this reason (although I wouldn't phrase it so personally). Even people that ideologically allign with Sirius could tell you that they're not the best or most intellectually honest of posters. They kinda just throw out takes and stubbornly prop them up without any productive dialogue.
Granted, this might have no bearing on their moderating and they could turn out to be a great mod, and by all means I hope they do! But, and Im not trying to be mean in saying this, Sirius makes the kind of low effort, snipey posts that I thought this forum was looking to discourage in polidicks.
