Im suprised no feedbot has posted this FPS blog that was posted today, so here it is! https://facepunch.com/blog/2018
The forums are something that cost us money but any benefit isn't measurable. The only reason to keep them alive is because it'd be a shame to kill them. Early next year I'm going to decide what we do with them.

@garry start a patreon or other crowdfunding program and let us pay for server costs.
Ah putting the fate of the forums up to a cointoss by a single human being.
@garry please keep the site up until the Trump impeachment thread.
It's not about the money. Garry literally just doesn't want to work on FP anymore, and I'd bet he doesn't trust anyone to work on it either. The Facepunch forums are not expensive to host (unless Garry is incompetent), so please don't buy that bullshit from him.
He spent months remaking Facepunch and now doesn't care about it. I guess like all the other abandoned projects.
uh oh somebody dropped some tru fax on garry so now the forums are DEFINITELY getting deleted
Boggles my mind that he hasn't handed it over to someone who would care. Or at least start the process of doing so.
Wonder if GMOD would be as popular without these forums / if it would have even made it to the steam store or just left to die on some moddb page
I thought the whole reason Hezzy came back is because Garry was going to pass the torch to him?
I'm backing up the entire board in case that ever happens though, so you can keep safe
It's really not that simple. There's a lot of legal issues at hand with that
I haven't been able to find the video for years, so just pretend I'm posting that video of the kid with his airsoft gun and hes like "Facepunch this is your final warning" and then says he doesnt have the caliber in his gun and then I say "thats me irl garry don't shut the forum down cause I'm an enemy you don't want" or something to that effect
The forums are something that cost us money but any benefit isn't measurable. The only reason to keep them alive is because it'd be a shame to kill them. Early next year I'm going to decide what we do with them. Having a place for the community to come together is a bad thing? Having a single place to go to would be a lot better than a dozen spread out over the internet. It's just more convenient.
I reckon from Garrys point of view the respective steam discussion forums, discords and subreddits are enough to get by and the forums are a burden. I don't agree but I would see his point.
Can't wait until he visits them once a year and then goes "LOL, I'm not reading a years worth of feedback." and nothing gets seen or answered.
