I support those things too
I'm just not against market economies, and when I hear "Socialism" in regards to economics, one of my concerns is that having governments involved in markets more heavily than required could severely stifle freedom of movement, and mobility, as well as creativity or even the ability to make choices.
Capitalism is one form of market economy, and is a short hand to many for "Market economy" and when I hear people be against that, I fear that the dictation of who works where and who does what is just around the corner from that decision making process.
This is fair. An Important thing to remember though is many socialist strains of thought do not advocate anything similar to the soviet union or china. The goverment does not have to directly control the private sector. It could be replaced by trade unions, the goverment could be a congress of trade unions, communes could be independent.
Then theres also market socialism.
I feel like I shouldn't have to tell you this because I know for a fact that people have informed you about this before bot Socialism does not mean government control of the market, nor does Capitalism mean the opposite. Nor, for that matter, does either of them mean market vs. non-market.
Universal things arent great.. its predicted that universal "things" are a sign of the times tbh
The terrifying and lack of thought involving UBI is many have been focused on the taxation and costs of it.
I would like to ask what the social costs are and how vulnerable it is to abuse in systems with social credit. It doesn't take you long to realize a great way to control people is to attatch a social credit score to allowance given in UBI.
