I'm watching a 3 part supercut and you could draw a graph of their dive into insanity and it's super great.
I miss LPs. DMC5 with pat and woolie is really good but I'm not really feelin the dude woolie is playing W101 with. I haven't really found anything to fill the gap other than just going back and watching old LPs which makes me feel like a coke fiend combing the carpet for cocaine crumbs.
Seeing GG play Sekiro just isn't the same vs. Super Best Friends doing the Soulsborne games. It's like 90% of the intrigue, funny fuckups, and learning from each LP is lost to fart jokes and doing high-larious exasperated expressions.
I lump game grumps in with the rest of the corporatey video game channels. Jontron and Erin had good chemistry but now it's just shitty. I tried to give the first episode of GG Sekiro a watch and uuuuugh. It's not like the funny voice schtick can't work because vinny and joel just slaughter me. Erin has really shit opinions and seems to go out of his way to avoid reading tutorials and then proceed to blame the game for it. The best friends crew aren't immune to this either but at least they're self aware and acknowledge when they're wrong or they missed something.
I don't really know how to describe it but the vinesauce and best friends crew have this sort of self awareness and seem tuned in to their fanbase and the content they're involving themselves with. Channels like GG and Dashiegames (which my girlfriend unfortunately had me watch an episode of that screaming neanderthal) feel really sterile and out of their way to be advertiser friendly. Corporatey I suppose.
Reggie is weird, he was top tier in Jet Set Radio, bringing in all sorts of cool trivia and conversation with Woolie and getting really into it, but for W101 it's just not happening?
GG Sucks. Simple.
They've got Infantile humour and funnily enough they were one of the first people to capitalize on the Let's Play scene and get a huge amount of success to that degree they have their own staff and a
gigantic office.
However they haven't really adapted with the times, they still do ad-ridden 10 minute episodes and at times it feels like the episode is almost over when you just started with it. It's just a frustrating
experience watching them. Not to mention, refusing to read tutorials and then bitching about it which is the biggest pet peeve for me at least.
Matt is doing his own videos which is fine and good, but he doesn't interact with almost anyone else outside of Liam, Woolie and maybe 2 other people.
He only really does stuff with Liam nowadays, every other video is just himself of his wife. I had to unfollow both Liam and her though, Liam starts fights for no fucking reason, and Matt's wife is... not a happy person

Also Woolie makes some very concerning noises in DMC V part 29. I understand why, but those are not the noises I was expecting.

Pretty much any point after we hit spoilertown at like 11m. Any time something new or cool happens you get a very excitable "ooohh" in various ways. I don't think I've ever quite heard this level of "ohhh".

matt please. it's soooo early for that.
I can't help but feel like Matt lost touch with what made SBFP good. Like he lost that little spark of joy/misery that made the channel fun, and at this point he doesn't really know what else he could do other than youtube personality. I just can't watch his content anymore without feeling like I'm drinking a diet soda.
I honestly feel kinda sorry for Matt. Dude must know he isn't as popular as Woolie and Pat are. At the same time he hasn't done much to help with that. Kinda get the vibe that he was the reason the Best Friends channel ended.
I always thought it was kind of obvious he preferred more scripted stuff, I remember back in the day him getting caught out scripting something for pat in one of the rustlemania videos which he forgot to edit out. It's just who he is at his core, particularly now with no one to bounce stuff off.
I liked him up until the end. I liked his constant Simpsons and Homestar Runner and other cartoon references, I don't know when everyone decided TBFP was too good for that. I hate to see what he's going through and I hope he finds a future doing something he enjoys. Even if he is the reason Super Best Friends ended, I don't think it was out of malice, and he was such a big part of it that I can't really be mad at him, because he was hurt by it as much as any of the SBF's fans have been.

I'm gonna be honest. Watching Pat fuck around in the void taught me some shit. I never bought Swords Formation and I've yet to actually start SoS difficulty yet, so I literally missed out on like 60% of the DSD move set.

Him in general being extremely bored all the time, failing to pay attention to the simplest things, just sitting on his phone, barely paying attention to anything.
And when he decides to bring something to the conversations it's the same old refrences as always. I loved him at the beginning but after a while I ended up skipping LP's with Matt and just ended up watching Woolie and Pat anyways because at least Pat aknowledges he's being a cunt.
And the fact that Pat tried to come with a olive branch and sue for "peace" with Liam, his wife intercepted it by acting like a snarky 14 year old tumblr user I just said fuck it.
