Fuck I'm 22 years old and tried so much different shit throughout education that I just couldn't get into, even things I still kind of enjoy like reading etc. would drag me down because I'd have to write essays on books that followed weird arbitrary "point, evaluate, explain" protocols that varied from teacher to teacher so you never had a solid method, and I just hate writing essays & taking exams anyway. I always went into IT subjects because it was something I understood but there was still a part of me that didn't click, like I was just doing it because it was the only option available and I didn't actually have that much interest in it
after dropping out of uni I'm working in a kitchen rn and even though it can takes the piss sometimes because it's not strictly a genuine head chef, sous chef etc. kitchen (its a wetherspoons for my UK posters) I actually enjoy the aspect of working with my hands and have started to enjoy cooking in my spare time. it just feels good to find something I'm actually interested in and to have that drive to want to get better at it. This might just be a temporary fluke but it's a refreshing break from feeling nihilistic all the time

My entire life i've never been able to sleep with random noises happening, like say the Japanese tourists next to me yelling all night and making whatever the fuck that inexplicable banging noise is. Half tempted to go to work with no sleep tomorrow and finish MGS3.
I've been seeing new names around for the past 6 months-year. I'm not sure how many of these are people who changed their usernames as I cant keep track via avatar/title like I used to. From 2016 I only remember seeing less names so if we do have new joiners then cool.
College can be really fucking frustrating even if you enjoy your subject, though that very much depends on the specific college

well at least on account of garries "gradual disintegration" approach I've already found alternatives for many of what were my facepunch uses.

the state of streaming and movie rental services disgust me. me and my SO wanted to watch WALL-E last night so we went through Netflix, HBO Nordic, Amazon Prime and nop, no WALL-E here! so we checked YouTube and Google Play and there it was! we thought our night was saved but noo. we spent about half an hour trying to figure out how to buy the damn thing cus on Android TV, it lists the rental price but if you click in on it there's no button for the actual purchase. going through YouTube only allows previews so that was a no go.
so my SO rented it via her phone instead so we could cast it to the TV. movie night saved? no! no matter what we did, we couldn't for the life of us change the damn audio language so it was stuck in norwegian. so we tried to log in on the TV with her account but still no dice cus apparently you can't select which account you want to use when using Google apps. so we straight up removed my account and finally, WALL-E was right in front of us. but first, the app would freeze and crash at least 5 times before we managed to click in on it.
then we hit play... and WALL-E was finally running after a whole hour of fiddling. except the audio was still stuck to norwegian! then we realized that it's literally impossible to purchase or rent WALL-E in Norway with original audio because apparently Disney has fucking geo restricted the audio / subtitle options. what??? what gain is there in geo restricting the language options??
I found it with torrents and we could've used a VPN to try to get around it but fuck it, I was too annoyed after being forcefully separated from WALL-E for so long, especially after paying too
Few months ago I was making a sauce for dinner. Or something similar, all I remember is that I needed ground jalapenos or minced ones. So being lazy I got my blender out,pressed the button and dropped the stickers in, then I plugged the blender in. I didnt have the top on so I got a face full of jalapenos. Worst part is that these were just picked from the garden jalapenos.
