It makes me sad seeing my brothers grow up with scummy gaming businesses practices, like Lootboxes and taking all of that as the norm, same thing with them growing up with absolutely scummy anti-consumer companies, like Epic and it basically being the company that can do no wrong because "They made Fortnite" they just don't know any better.

Worst part is that the 8-14 year old audience just eats that shit up. I've a friend whose younger brother regularly spends 50 PLN (12 euro/10 gbp, enough to do small grocery shopping in Poland) on fortnite skins. When I was his age I think i speak for most people that buying something abstract like skins or ingame currency was incomprehensible, but for them it's totally normal.

A little bit of education and persuasion can still change minds. During my teen years I was stealing mad bucks to spend on arcades and MMO skinner boxes, but I'm now well aware of the profiteers that invade the industry. You let them continue to be ignorant and they'll continue to assume that's how the business operates by default.

Asshole management at work overshot our sales mark by $13,000 and decided to cut everyone's hours to only 12 hours a week maximum. Now they're basically just trying to get people to leave, this is fucking unacceptable, now I have to find new work when I only worked one month here at this fucking joint.

Got into a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Skidded down the road on my knees and one of my elbows. I fucking ache all over, my right arm is the only part of my body I can move without feeling a spike of pain. Prior to the weekend I have worked a full week of 8 hour shifts, but I still had to wake up at 7am, get back on my bike, and get shit sorted all weekend, plus get into bed early enough to wake up for work on monday morning. Wake up this morning in absolute agony, still try to get into work as usual at 7am because due to shift changes the company still haven't given me a number to contact if I need to call in sick. It takes roughly an hour for me to ride into work. Get into work, my uniform locker is still broken- wont open, I reported this two weeks ago. Due to the heat on the factory floor, toxic substances involved, and strenuous nature of the work, my uniform gets very dirty very quickly, even if the oversuit I wear manages to protect me from every single drop of resin and every splinter of fiberglass, I'm going to sweat like a pig while working. We are supposed to have fifteen sets of uniform at any given time. I still have to wear someone else's trousers that I nicked from a clean washing trolley two weeks ago, can't put them in the wash or they will just return to the guy I pinched them from. I bump into one of my trainers purely by chance in the changing rooms. "Oh I probably should have mentioned last week, your shift shouldn't be here on a bank holiday." Yeah you probably should have. For fucks sake. This job is going to fucking kill me. The company is expanding way too fast and nobody can keep up with it. It took them two weeks to take me off a shift with a guy who repeatedly assaulted me with his retard mates a few years ago because gaybashing is apparently still a thing people do, and bisexuals apparently aren't excluded. Imagine working with powersaws and grinders beside someone who you last saw stamping on your head while his mates held you down screaming slurs. This job is going to kill me.

My irish setter finally passed today from liver failure related to extremely swolen lymph nodes. News was broken via text in the last hour of work but I only cried for a few minutes.
