Well, it's sad to see FP finally die, but I've barely used it since the big update came out. The loss of read and popular threads really killed what made me love the forum.
It's going to be so weird changing my homepage after having the same one for almost 10 years.
If you're all leaving, can we all have moderator powers?

Whatever floats your boat. KOC is going to be actively developed and moderated by the full team, but some mods will hang around here until Garry turns out the lights for good.
I just wish there was some way to preserve my FP profile somehow on KO, the joindate, the post count, something I can look at as a proof and memory that I've been a part of the community.

Started browsing Facepunch in early 2007, or possibly late 2006 but my first account was in 2007 after lurking a while.
After being banned for 365 days for protesting my autoban when helping someone with download links (THANKS POSTAL) back when mentioning Rapidshare and Megaupload autobanned you and also censored the link, I created this account and been using it everyday ever since, even though my main superpower is still lurking.
Guess I will go down in history as a blue boy.

Now I'm going to soapbox a bit about internet forums
To me, they've always been a bit of a relic of mid-to-late 2000's internet culture. I remember coming across a (honestly, really well made, esp for the time) flash equivalent of Super Mario Maker that had its own forum. You could submit level codes you made, people would play them, and if it was good enough, your level submission thread would've been moved to the Good Levels of Best Levels section. And of course, other general sections.
Then I got the Orange Box for 360, being enamored by Portal. Segue into being hooked into TF2, then into getting it on PC, Steam User Forums, then eventually I made it here to Facepunch. Hung around mostly in the TF2 section, looking in awe at the Emporium of mods with so many amazing, creative ideas. Being able to say "woah, dude, congrats!" when I knew someone who's project ended up officially in the game.
I definitely made three, and we occasionally still hit each other up on Steam/Discord, none of them seem to post here, anymore. But I never really had a "forum presence" but I definitely enjoyed the "ride."
But yeah forums seem to kind of... Phase out with the introduction of main social media sites. Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter... And then reddit. I know people hate reddit and its layout and culture and whatever, but it's definitely the culmination of forum concepts and such from before. But dedicated forum websites aside from it always kind of remained a "niche" concept. We're all the huge fucking nerds regularly browsing an international forum for Garry's Mod, the insanely dorky and ridiculous sandbox mod for Half-Life 2, another probably one of the nerdiest games with the nerdiest fanbases. u fuckin nerds.
Anyway, I just had a flashback through my life experience typing this shit. Gonna stay on this sinking ship until its under, then maybe I'll see y'all on Knockout. <3

I've been here for so god damn long, and all I really have to say is
@garry FUCKING PULL THE FUCKING PLUG ALREADY. I rather have it die than have some people stay here and hope that FP some how lives. Hezzy and the rest p. much jumping ship proved to me, 100%, this place is dead now. Rather have most people move over to Knockout so that won't die like every other off shoot of FP (Lifepunch, Dougpunch, etc). We can actually have forums ran by people who want them, won't have sections removed out of nowhere for no fucking reason.
