I find it mildly depressing that Garry's communication habits with the community are so absolutely pisspoor that we're not expecting any sort of ETA or even a more formal announcement regarding Facepunch's death. Like when it first made the change to Newpunch, it'll just happen out of nowhere when we're least expecting with no prior warning, so everyone is currently on edge with mild panic with the mindset that any day on this site might be their last. Facepunch will go out not with a bang, but with a cut off mumble.
I mean sure, a countdown clock would mean Facepunch would be a dumpster fire of gore as all reason to not be banned would be lost, but I'd rather something that feels more like a party to give our time here some actual finality.

Not really. If someone doesn't want to verbally take part in a discussion, it's really their choice.
If you see someone really abusing ratings either through spam or other really inappropriate use, then you should just report one of their posts (specifying what they did)

As much as I like the idea of Knockout, I'm having a hard time believing it's going to be anywhere as successful as Facepunch, and that it's not just going to be populated by 10% of Facepunch Refugees before it inevitably dies off.
Valve has removed oauth support through steam. It works through existing websites at the moment, but new sites can't use it.

I feel like once this dies I'll be leaving with it - I barely post here anymore anyway. Think I had something over 20,000 posts on oldpunch. No idea since none of it migrated. 10 years on one website is a good run though.
dunno if this is common knowledge but if you get banned and then the post the mod banned you with gets deleted it is impossible to know how long your ban is.

I know caring about ratings is a meme and all but I feel like rating threads about children being raped funny is crossing some kind of line.
Report their last post and link to the post their rated inappropriately in the report. You should have enough space with 200 characters max.
