Yeah, I was gonna say most of those obscenity laws predate the war. The US influence was more just the influx of comics and cartoons, anime and manga as a whole are very heavily influenced on old American cartoons/comics. Also the old semi-joking conspiracy theory that Japan got really weird as the result of background radiation from the atomic bombs and/or the culture shock of going from an isolationist military power to a pacifist trade power.
