A whole stick of gum? What do you think I am, made of money?
I've found that replies/quotes, don't work if the post box isn't on screen.
Also how do you tag images?
I've just rolled out all the changes we have had on QA for the last fortnight.
Additional UI tidy-ups are on the way as well as a complete overhaul of the mod tools.
Lowered the time notifications persist for
Improved notification styling and proportions
Fixed an issue where rating a post would scroll you to the top of the page
Tidied up various controls into a drop down menu on mobile
Fixed a scrolling performance issue
Added a session validity check on page load
I seem to be having an issue with logging in. It's trying to log me in but fails to completely do so. I can't post new threads or posts, can't view my settings, can't rate anything, can't subscribe to threads, and it doesn't actually show me as logged in. But for some reason I can view my subscribed threads still. I've tried clearing my cache and my site data and trying again but it just consistently results in the same issue. I've looked across several pages including every page in the process for logging on but there's no console errors or anything. The biggest thing of note is that after trying to log in it redirects me to "https://knockout.chat:3000/auth/finish?user=" with some bits after the "user=" bit that may be security token related so I removed them. When this page loads though, it's just a blank white page.
I did just notice one thing that may be related after looking into things a bit though. I noticed that the only thing the page had was this script. So I tried atob()ing the data after "user=" to see what I got. There's a "%3D" (appears to decode to "=") which causes the atob() to fail. After changing that to an equals sign (or even simply deleting the %3D and not bothering to replace it even) it does return valid data. But simply deleting %3D in the login url or replacing it with an = does actually return an error in the console now:

I'm assuming that this bit has something to do with not allowing popups which I'm actually kinda amazed anyone expects to not be blocked on a modern web browser judging by the code related to that stuff. Although I no longer seem to get that error when I go through the process again from start to finish and then replace %3D with an =. Though logging in still doesn't work successfully.
we're moving the servers around, expect a little downtime.
if it isn't up in a bit please shout at us
I've gotten around to updating the thread listing on lite, its entirely optional and can be activated by enabling expanded thread listing within your preferences, by default you get a compact list with no icons. This update has likely exploded in IE5 with my liberal use of floats, I'll assess the damage tomorrow.

There are some small fixes on mobile too, YouTube "embeds" will now scale properly on small screens.

Any chances of getting the oldpunch theme on the normal site?
Its not possible without a lot of work, I can just update the CSS on lite, but the main site uses styled components.
The main site is also so different from oldpunch from a layout standpoint, it would be difficult to make it work.
Twas supposed to be! Nevermind though, I like that I have a horse now.
I noticed that since a couple of weeks ago, seems that the encoding text has been changed, because it not longer renders my alias right:

Also, there's a way to change the name on there?
Ooof, what do you want to change it to? I'll have to nip into the database.
Literally change one letter from it, Maestro -> Maestra.

bit of a minor thing, but northernlights added a manifest to the site, which means we can now do this (which is cute!)
Not sure how I'd improve it but the second one is a definite.
maybe add the title like it is styled on the first pic but move it downwards the toolbar, or just style the second pic so the title looks like it's part of the theme
Hugely prefer the 1st as it looks so much cleaner, but it does present the "why is the title there twice?" question.
Prefer the more uniform look overall to be honest.
i really like how the first one goes with the rest of the style, but the second is more readable and just makes more sense
I think the second one looks considerably better.
Second is absolutely the preferable one. First one is like reading a newspaper with a really tiny headline. It just doesn´t have the same impact.
One small change to the second one, the date could be moved all the way to the left:
This way there is a clear vertical separation between post content and other stuff, while also making the start of a post more immediately clear.

Sorted, the accent on your username is being preserved properly within the database, but apparently isn't rendering right on the front-end. I'll look into rolling a fix out today.
Okay, I've got a fix for you on QA. That will probably end up in production tomorrow, once it does you just need to sign out and back in again.
Just rolled your fix out to production, please sign out and back in again.
The release included the following:
Added application manifest so phones can add the site to their homescreen
Reworked subnav design and page titles, much more space efficient on mobile
Corrected a bug with unicode characters not being rendered properly in peoples usernames
Fixed the ugly footer on mobile
Small update to thread listing proportions, should save space in some situations
Added memes
What
The loading screen cycles between a few messages from The Sims and HL2. Don't worry, we know how Insufferable Discord is and we are not going that far.
So is there anything that can be done about this or...? It hasn't even been acknowledged and I'm still having the issue no matter what I try.
What browser are you using? Because I've got popups explicitly blocked here and the site still works.
Firefox. Oddly enough it seems that you guys fixing it in Firefox for everyone else has somehow managed to completely break it for me.
