A salute for both those beauties. Every vehicle death should be a noteworthy one, not from being left to rot in a yard somewhere.
This little $40 fuck is saving me so much money. Fiancée's tires went inexplicably flat after a few weeks of her not driving and I wasn't about to pay to get her fucking heap of a car towed. Co-part retirement soon for it.

Looks like an Oldsmobile from the hubcap design? Do your gf a favor and accidentally send the car scuba diving.
She bought it for $500 like 6 years ago or some shit. 1999 oldsmobile alero. Literally the worst fucking car I've ever driven and worked on. I'm not joking when I say that I refuse to put more than $100 more into it. The second something goes out and it costs more than $100 to fix I'm getting it scrapped and taking my maybe $200 in scrap value from Co-Part. She's getting a new car either this year or next.
everyone on the internet that calls Discount Tire the Chick-fil-a of car shops can go fuck themselves. My 2012 ford focus needs 4 new tires and those fuckers quoted me 740 dollars for 4 Continentals what the fuck
chick fil a is expensive as fast food goes but the people behind the counter are nice and they're closed on sundays
Might be going to order a new swift sport tomorrow, probably in blue

you will soon be mine you beautiful light little bastard
What size? Contis are pretty expensive
Source: my family is in the tire business and I sold tires for a while.
how would I go about fixing the door seals at the top of the door frame?
some IDIOT CUMQUAT FUCK tried to break into my car, thinking just pulling the door apart would be enough, so he scratched the inside of the window frame and I guess the seals gave a little outwards. Now I hear wind noise going on the highway.
@tratzzz
Yeah, it was the very same Berlingo. Panel was removed for future use though.
I think we finally managed to absolutely cook the engine. Engine-wise, it had been surprisingly reliable for a run of a five years in my care. Did however just start to go downhill the last couple of months. Malfunctioning lambda probe, temperature sensors, ECU, and watercooling. Gasket probably busted too. Started to run on less cylinders as weeks would pass Temperature misinformation didn't help at all, because it would constant run rich mix, because it would always think itself cold, so the fuel economy was dogshit. More like rich fuel and coolant actually.
No significant gearbox issues other than the rod from the gearstick itself would occasionally pop off the transmission. And the clutch having ON-OFF range of 2-3 millimeters, kinda like a dragracing clutch, but did still work! No issues with turn signals, and the rear wiped just died long ago. Rust was rampant, and yes, the rear axle was starting to get a mean camber.
Problem is, our inspections here are thorough and strict, sufficient repair for a pass would have been extremely extensive and waaay too costly, far beyond the cars actual worth. It was just her time.
Scrapper guy did mention she ran a bit hot during the burnout, and also melted her way through a belt cover

I always feel bad when a car gets sent to the scrapyard, but it was simply this cars time to go. It's not like it was a one-off car, or something special, but it's still sad.
well, I did it
two weeks or so until it gets delivered
I think you know damn well what I'm gonna ask...
what's the interior like?
I like the styling of it but it's obviously cheap since it's a hotted up economy car. Lots of hard plastics and all that but I really don't give a shit, my Mazda 3 interior was mostly hard plastics and I never gave a damn

The seats are really comfy
Maybe it should have slightly lower seats? But it does seem nice.
Waiting to know how zippy it is!
Oh it's zippy, I took an auto one for a test drive.
140hp (though I've read a lot of people saying it's actually closer to 150hp) and 230nm, which doesn't sound like much but then you hear that it's 970kg.
beauty
i got myself a vee hickle

Looks mint. I’m developing an appreciation for unmolested Jap cars of the 80s and 90s.
same
I think I was pretty lucky to find this
I had been looking for a third gen Prelude on and off for a year or two, and then just before I got my license this one turned up not too far from where I live
52,000 miles and ticked all the boxes for me; 1989 ( pre-facelift), all stock, manual, no spoiler, with the four-wheel steering and one of the original neutral colours, so I jumped on it and I'm so glad I did
140hp is really good on my DIESEL TON AND A HALF CAR
140 on that little thing? authentic dynamite
my friend's 106 gti does some mad shit with just 120hp, imagine 140 that sounds like 150
christ I wish I could get into car reviews, driving various cars for a living like Doug DeMuro and people like him sounds like a dream job
Bout time you showed up in this thread Winston. I knew you couldnt keep your pride n joy away forever.
I've driven a 1.0 3-cyl Boosterjet Swift and it's one of the best new cars I've driven. Fast, fun, sounded great, nice handling, well screwed-together interior. I doubt there's actually a better value car for sale anywhere, they're awesome.
Winston that Prelude is stunning.
Wow. That interior is unbelievably nice for its age.
i've got a summer job where im driving a lot and making a ton of money, so i'm thinking of riding out my 2000 volvo s80 until i've got the cash to buy a new one and sell mine
despite it having it's shitshow of problems, it's overall a nice car. previous owners treated it like absolute crap and I feel like I adopted some problem child that needs shaping up. Luckily everything is shaping up fine. September will be a year, im hoping by then I can fix up a few of the cheaper things and sell it to someone.
should I be on the hunt for a volvo s60 t5 or an s80 AWD or what? I don't really want any of the newer volvos but i want a nice one with some power behind it. I'll likely never be able to find a s60r that isn't riced to shit. i've heard the s80 8 cyls are nasty
Holy fuckin shit what a beautiful automobile. I know it's a replica but god damn I want one.

Tier list imo:
R variant > T5 > 2.5T ~ 2.4T > NA/Diesel. From a HP perspective the 2.5T is technically better by a small margin but the 2.4T's turbo spools faster and as such has better "right off the line" performance compared to the 2.5t which shines on the highway and at higher RPMs. Other than in Rs avoid AWD thanks to lolproblems like our friend the bevel gear or the rear diff who both like exploding because reasons. S40s/v40s and similar super compacts are weird do not touch. 2000/2001 model year anything is bad do not touch. 2002 is eeeeeh, 2003-2004 (early) are the good pre-facelift years (black bumper bar all the way across). 2004-2007's are better in terms of stock parts since a whole slew of issues had been worked out by that point (especially transmission issues being fixed in the years closer to 2007) but can be a little bit fucky for modding since they made the software side of things a bit bitchier, especially in regards to manual swaps.
such a nice fucker, congrats mate!
jap cars from the 80's and 90's are the best
woah just noticed it aswell
that looks MINT
thanks
when I used to play some games with a logitech g25 I used to swap the shifter between left and right and it never felt awkward
yeah, the seats feel new, everything works, even the shift knob looks almost un-used, it's lovely
I had just finished cleaning every square inch of it when I took that picture the day after buying the car
I keep it looking like that because it just makes me excited to sit in it - can't stand a dirty/cluttered interior
Neither can I, but lazyness works wonders sadly
That looks soo good, like out of an ad from Honda itself
