Well, I fixed my Blazer. Turns out my Ignition Control Unit was dying, causing my truck to go from "it doesn't start sometimes" to "it only starts sometimes" to "it doesn't start at all"

Popped in a new one, seems to be back to normal. I'm really glad, because I didn't want to have to make all my roadtrips this summer in the Jimny.
visited japan and some buddies took me to daikokufuto, took some pics

whoa that embeds cool
First time trying something like this but it was pretty satisfying in the end

Usually i hate soulless weeb boxes, but that's pretty swell.
second nail thru a tire in like 2 weeks. both right on the shoulder. for the first I had a spare matching tire, but I gotta get a new tire for this one and turns out they replaced the RT-615k with the RT-615k+ which is like 30 bucks more. gonna replace both backs. f this life
discount tire direct still has some rt-615k in 215/40-r17 if that's the size you're after
195/60r14 :/ cant find the old ones anywhere. appreciate it though
Unlike my brother, who just killed his Passat. I'm never going to let him live it down.
yeah thats not an easy size to find to begin with. updating is probably just the way to go
tbh when I discovered there was a new version, I half expected to find out they axed my size
Let him live it down. Passats are notorious for breaking oil pans on every single bump. My cousin has a Passat which got a hole in the oil pan, but I just JB-welded it and it's held for almost 2 years now.
Today I rented an extractor to clean my seats, carpet and headliner. Holy fuck was the 36 bucks I paid for it worth it!
For context, one of the previous 6 owners of this car smoked in it and in the past few months I did quite a lot of work to get it cleaned, my most 'aggressive' method so far being the extractor. I am baffled how clean the headliner looks now :V

Fuck there's one thing I forgot about however, while the carpet and headliner have properly dried out from what I can tell, the seats are still kind of wet and it's gonna be rainy tomorrow so I can't open the windows to air the interior out. I really hope it won't mold over...
French car
smoked in
not even surprising
Interestingly enough I haven't seen many Peugeots that were smoked in, mine is the exception to the rule so far. I'm glad that I managed to rid that thing of the smell almost completely now, it's just that I can't get it out of the steering wheel. I'm thinking of unbolting it and throwing it straight in a bath of cleaning vinegar or something. That wheel is so simple, I don't have airbags and not even a horn button which is on the turn signal stalk instead.
My 2006 Mazda 6i finally bit the dust after seeing Endgame (literally parked it, came out of the theater 3 hours later, would not start). We thought it was the starter, but nope. No compression. Timing chain is fucked. Not about to drop a thousand dollars on a car I paid $1300 for, i went car shopping and found a nice little 2013 VW GTI. 41k miles, basically in brand new condition with a couple marks on the side, tint peeling, and a loose swaybar link. Nothing I can't fix or just spend a few bucks on. Interior is basically untouched.

So while financing is going through they're letting me use it as a loaner.
It always hurts to see someone buy a vw product. Good luck.
Got called today by the dealership, my swift sport is gonna be ready to be picked up on Wednesday
excite
little bastard will go perfectly next to my other little bastard, Jimny
Yesterday I fucked up my ignition barrel by taking it apart and and was unable to put it back together, all that over a broken return spring which made my pull the key back to ignition by myself, joy.
While I could just pull another ignition barrel and key from the junkyard and be done with it relatively fast, I don't want to carry 2 keys around nor can I find a locksmith nearby that can rekey the ignition switch. I guess my only option is checking the junkyard nearby and hoping the guys kept the keys of each car and strip its locks. Why did I make this so complicated for myself, fuck. I can get a new OEM ignition switch and pay 183 bucks for a car I paid 350 for in the first place, no way in hell am I doing that
Day 458 of Waiting for Parts:
Still waiting on tie rod and other crucial parts. Supplies running low. Deadline nearing.
Send help.
if you keep one of your old tires after going to america's tire, they put it in a little takeout bag!

that Jimny is so fucking cool
When I used to work at Firestone, I would do the same. Except ours were premium bags. They were transparent.
I fucking hated that job. Not the actual job of working on shit, but dealing with dense, cheap customers, and my literally brain-dead co-workers made that job fucking unbearable.
Never thought I'd see one of these things. (Karma Revero. New version of the Fisker Karma)

How do I cope with knowing my car was in a fender bender, and the right wheel is 1cm away from the bumper too much, and the hood doesn't ligns up?
Paint some racing stripes on it and add some hoonigan stickers

She lives again.
My parts store called, and my junk is one the way come monday. August or bust.
There isn't a big enough sticker for the whole car

yes i did buy the S12 in the end.
(btw the fujiwara tofu isn't there anymore - it was an inside joke for a irl shitpost)
Currently I have my GTI "straight piped" (Catless Downpipe and Muffler Delete).
The resonator is still in though and yet the car is insanely fucking loud. I personally don't mind it but i'm sure the police will.
I'm thinking of chopping my res and adding a muffler in place but I don't know what to go with.
I don't know if I need an aggressive muffler, mid level or quiet muffler because I just need it to be little bit quieter is all.
Here is what the underside of a GTI looks like.
