It's not last by any means. The answer to FP's chronic moderation/administration problems was to give moderation position to a bunch of very questionable people and then port them over to FP's successor as if that would actually help give the community a better chance.
Heyo, The golden/MissyQ here. There are some good folks in the moderation team and I still talk to some of them on occasion to chat about life/games but a good chunk of them are here for no other reason than to act like they have a big dick and have any authority over anybody. I've been on FP on-and-off since 2005 and it's always been the same crap. Mods acting like they are infallible and stomping out any criticism with harsh punishment. It's largely been the backbone of Facepunch for over 10+ and has resulted in a unique forum space as FP has been free of a lot of bullshit that has plagued other forums... but that was back when a lot of us were young teenagers. I was 12 when I first joined. Most of us are in our late 20's or early 30's now and this childish way of moderating is so fucking tiresome now.
Garry is done with the forums. He's done with being the admin. I don't like the guy but whatever, he's done. It is what is. FP now has the opportunity to start a new community with a new outlook, new moderation standards, and with a community that has now grown up and matured. A chance to kickstart the community and fix all the past mistakes and right wrongs. So what is being done about that?
Doubling down on childish moderation, porting over the awful and disliked mods, quenching criticism, waving dicks and god complexes around, and fueling drama. I don't spend much time on these forums anymore other than popping in to check on news threads (FP is a good place to get breaking news) and I'm very glad about that because this community is going tits-up and NOT just because of Garry. There is a nearly functional replacement for FP sitting right there and the community is very divided over it because the handling of it has been so poor and the moderation is doing nothing but continue to piss off the community.
If any of you at the top wonder where the people have gone then you have nobody to blame but yourselves.
I mean you can keep banning if you'd like but this point is going to keep getting brought up and keep getting proven until we actually get some people in the lead that aren't ban-happy antagonists.

Erm, I'm not really interested in getting to the drama in this thread, but AtomicSans has consistently been one of my favourite posters and she put a lot of work into the confessions thread. We all have bad days, but calling her 'one of the worst posters on the site' is so far from the truth that it legitimately makes me pretty angry you'd say that.
