Firstly I would like to say that 80% of that content that Qbetex originally posted in Facepunch Anonymous Confessional was shitpost that should have never been taken literally. I am deeply sorry if it did offend anyone. Secondly, I said a while ago now that I wasn't going to get involved in polidicks hence why the screenshots that were provided were fairly old.

My post looks confusing but it's just bad writing. You were asleep when the entire thing happened. Had you been awake probably could have been pinged. Can't expect you to be awake in the middle of night of this happening though. That's just how time-zones work.

So Qbe-tex gets to call out a mod, gets them demodded without warning or chance to explain or apologize, and then just deletes their own account entirely because of the backlash? Internet drama is fascinating.

I mean you can see from the accounts being nuked in the event log that it seems pretty fuckin sus that anyone who calls sosig out of his "ironic shitposting" shortly gets nuked. Not saying anyone from the mod team is doing it (more likely it's someone who nuked themselves and came back on an alt to share their side) but i do think it's important that I as a member of this community that isn't planning on leaving reiterates what has been said but has been deleted from the nukes From the screenshots that Qbe provided you could see that this isn't just a one off thing for Sosig. For months (Reiterated by Qbe original post and Good Day's post before being nuked) They tried to tell him "yo fuckin stop, this isn't funny, this is the same 'joke' that you've been beating on a war drum for ages." Of course i only see him "shitposting" about it from February to March from the main fp chat so ehhh. also Qbe said that before the polidicks channels got nuked he was spreading similar shit there, but of course none of it has survived so i cannot verify that statement. However, adding to the severity of what was said it would be alright if he was a blue member because you could just go "ehhh if he keeps on we will bag him" and obviously golds usually get bagged pretty quick if they start to act up like that. But he was neither of those he was a moderator making jokes at the expense of a present sub-community here on our internet home. You can also cross-reference hezzy's post and see the pieces left behind from his perspective of people "bitching and moaning without evidence" for what i recall of people bugging hezzy for sosig doing just borderline breitbart posting. It's okay to shitpost and have a goodtime because that's the point of this community. Just not at the expense at others. I do believe that maybe he should have gotten a 24 hours to explain himself, but what's done is done and if the only excuse is "it was shitposts I swear!" now then i heavily doubt hezzy would have not demodded anyway. Sosig was an alright moderator, nothing off cuff in their actions. But it's essentially like bringing T u d d back and giving him mod again as a joke and going "well you see it's okay because he says he is really sorry " Of course this is all objective considering I'm trying to piece together a somewhat alright narrative for people who are late for this to follow. Once again I would like to say that these comments were from a while ago now and I said I was not going to post in polidicks again. Like I said before, most of these are shitposts that were taken the wrong way. The "immigration" one above is definitely a shitpost.

Seem totally acceptable as shitposts to me. Shitposting in discord servers (or anywhere else outside of fp) shouldnt be a reason to be banned or demodded on fp aslong as it doesnt impact his modding or posting on FP itself. I'd have been permabanned years ago if what I post outside of FP would be a factor. (Especially since a couple of the new mods here have seen or heard them)

There has been a lot worse said than what Sosig has. It doesn't totally let him off the hook but it totally doesn't warrant an instant demod either.

going on 4chan for over 10 years has led me to develop a deranged sense of humor which in turn has made me say waaaaaaaaaaaaay worse stuff than what sosig has said. there were quite a few dramas about it, and i'm still a mod. is it because people know i'm joking (but im just an idiot) but don't know whether sosig is joking or not? in that case shouldnt he be given a chance to explain himself or to apologize for his behavior and promise to change his habits? i really dont want to step on anyone's toes but being given multiple chances over the years makes me want to do the same for others even if i personally find some of the things said absolutely unacceptable

real quick info - It was done in the official FP/KO Discord. We've fucked people up before on our FP steam chat, actions outside in certain places do carry weight.

I would like to try and close the discussion on me with a sincere apology and some brief backstory. I joined the FP mod team in late 2018 after Tlean's departure. Tlean's leaving created a need for a new Rust Moderator as the rest of the mod team is not entirely interested in the game nor know much about it. And that's where I came in. For a while before my modding I was extremely active in the Rust channel on the Facepunch discord where my only intention was to help others with in game issues and technical issues regarding Rust. At that time I also checked in on the Facepunch Forums (the amazing place you are in right now!!) from time to time. Please don't be afraid to call me a "no-lifer" etc but I have now achieved 4056 hours on Rust: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/178138/a9d3b29b-45a4-4509-b17f-f7090f031d5a/image.png For this reason I was keen to help new players with whatever issues they may have as Rust is a hard game to learn and even harder to master. I am not entirely sure if both Hezzy and Garry had the honours of my moderation promotion or if it was just one of them but I first spoke to Hezzy after seeing him engaging in conversation in the FP discord and I said "hi" and wondered if he had any involvement with Rust and its development - this lead to some nice dm's etc where we got to know each other slightly. I then invited Hezzy to Rust Community discord (which I help out in) to present him with our "Facepunch" role. I am guessing that Hezzy saw my work in Rust community discord and therefore believed I would be good at helping out with Rust on the Facepunch Discord and then the forums. It was not late after this I became part of the discord's "community team" When I first became moderator I was greatly appreciative and could not believe that I was now given the chance to help out on the main Rust discord hub (for the time, since then Rust Official discord has been created). I did not however receive any training or guidance, I offered my greatest help to those in need of Rust assistance and followed in the path of other moderators for other issues that I was going to have to address. Now I must address the reason I was demodded: As you have all seen Qbetex took some of my posts from the discord from a few months back and posted them in the other thread. Hezzy saw these posts and demodded me. I had no chance to defend myself as it was 2am at the time and I was in a deep sleep completely unaware of what was going on. It was only at 8am the next day I saw what had happened. Since this has happened I have heard stories about previous moderators who did much worse things and actually meant the stuff they were saying but only got a warning. I didn't even get a chance to defend myself. In retrospect, I can see the severity of some of my posts on the Facepunch discord at some times and can see how they may have offended someone or given them the wrong idea about me and my beliefs. I am truly sorry if I did cause offence and I wish I could go back and stop myself from making such dumb comments. As a note I would like to say that I do not hold any extremist views similar to Tudd etc You may have noticed that the posts that were screenshotted and showed here were months old. This is because I was told that my comments/shitposts were not acceptable by other members of the community. Since then I have not posted anything political / shitposty to this degree. Once again I would like to say that I am truly sorry if my posts had offended anyone. My only intention with FP was to help people out and be a good moderator. I felt extremely privileged to be a part of such an amazing team and community. I do hope that all can be forgiven as nothing like this will ever happen again. Your's Truly, Jacob.
