One charity or top suggestions?
Community fund thread Community Fund
Not only has he been around for a very long time (since the beginning?), but several people personally know him, and ontop of it all he's a dang police officer.
I mean I'm sure Hezzy is a great person and all, but him being a police officer and this being an online forum for video games doesn't really mean much to me.
If he's not a part of the community anymore then the community fund should be transfer, or preferably, spent immediately. If it's going to be donated then it should be donated less than a year from now where we have no idea if Hezzy will even be reachable.
a thread has been opened for suggestions on how to spend it. other than that he said that if the money isn't spent soon he'll just donate it to charity. he isn't running away with the money.
Hezzy has a stable job, he's been with the community longer than most, and he's been community manager forever - There's nobody more qualified to keep the money for the time being.
There's no point in overthinking it. This is a simple solution.
tbh we trusted him with taking monetary donations on behalf of the community on oldpunch, so... what's changed since then?
Right, I completely misinterpreted what you meant then, lol. Whoops. Rereading it I'm not sure why I interpreted it that way since it comes across fairly clearly this way but I'd somehow interpreted it as you saying people should be able to figure out who the mods are without having to resort to a script.
People said to post this here so I'm gonna go ahead and out myself as a crybaby and do it.
Laika has been rating basically every thread where bad things happen for trans people as winner such as Trump Administration Proposes Rollback of Transgender Protection..
and rating every thread where good things happen to them as dumb or snowflake like Rep.Jennifer Wexton displays Trans Pride flag outside office, th..
At this point they either legitimately hate trans people or they are just shitrating to upset people.
He's done this forever. He'll continue to do it forever. He absolutely hates trans people, whether or not he'll admit it to himself.
Laika, if you read this, you hate trans people. Admit that to yourself.
just too much of a coward to say it in words
Ratings don't mean anything, except for when they do.
They are also a replacement for posting, except for when they aren't.

At a certain point ratings got disabled which has bugged out some threads to not show names with ratings.
If you're gonna be spamming that many ratings that people deem controversial you should at least be required to elaborate on your position, unless it's just done with the intent to troll.
You aint no bitch are you Laika?
ratings are just emotions
That's true. If someone feels and chooses to express an emotion such as "trans people are subhuman and do not deserve rights," I think it's fair to say that's someone we don't want hanging around.
Its Trans or nothing kid.
doesn't matter if it's posts or ratings, anyone who is consistently baiting are gonna get slamdunked into the ten halls of yama. in essence, trolling is trolling no matter what.
though this doesn't mean you'll be banned for rating controversially, you can have your opinion all your want.
💩💡🙊
It's not inherent or by any obligation to make a post if you rate though...
You shouldn't apply posting rules to RATINGS. Christ that is quite horrific of a thought. Especially when a single rating really doesn't tell you much as you think it does.
Which is why mods should always seek out more than one rating/instance of it happening. There are also lots of types of activities to think about, like group ratings / frequency
3+ ratings like Laika's examples tells you as much as you need to know, as if it was a post. and thus actionable, because it is obvious to everyone whats is happening.
If you're going to go through PD threads, and without the restrain to just not comment on something (post or otherwise), then you should be expected to defend your stance if you are called out on it.
If I see someone advocate for universal healthcare for Americans, and then I go and rate it dumb or disagree, then I should be expected to defend my stance when I get called on it. That is the nature of PD.
You're inflating that subforum and making shit up, that is not the nature of PD lol
Is "It is my opinion" a valid answer? and if not then what is the criteria for a valid answer?
I mean if you take my example, and that's your explanation for it. I don't think that really fulfills the spirit of PD.
1) Discussion threads in Polidicks will be held to a much higher standard than the news articles. Users must be prepared to properly debate their positions.
2) Be absolutely civil in discussion threads. Callouts, unsourced arguments, bait, or bad faith debating will lead to a ban.
If rating is a statement of your position, and a bad faith rating isn't bait, then I'm not sure what you would call it short of trolling. In either case, obvious rate trolling should be enforced. Ratings have been described multiple times by staff as a shortened way to post without wasting a post for something quick.
Do you really want me to drag everyone that worked on that sticky to tell you that you're trying to bend it for yourself?
Again,
A standalone rating does not offer near anything to a post, in terms of context especially. It's not a statement but a sentiment - it's even in the sticky.
People often make mistakes making a rating, or have different sense of humor, or double meaning to a rating, and etc.
Multiple ratings paint enough context as any post would, even to being a statement. You can make the argument here, but I told you that two posts ago.
This is how we operate in deciding something is rate trolling, tragedy trolling, rating spam, and etc.
tl;dr quit making it black and white and realize some commonsense.
@Hezzy it was you who said you were also the former user DrGestapo, right?
That was an entirely different person.
No. He was always generally known as 'Hezzy', but he held a poll on the old forums to decide what he should change his name to. The winning name was 'Mr. Gestapo', and it stuck until a few months before he was fired by Garry in 2011.
Hezzy
My name was changed after a poll to MrGestapo. Other runner ups included "Ronkodonko" and "Gay_Weed_Dad_69"
I also previously changed my name to Superlove Supreme and pretended to be another person after work found my FP account haha
Superlove Supreme was the best Hezzy Alter-Ego
They were like a sweet cinnamon roll suddenly put into a huge new job of babysitting an entire forum due to the mysterious disappearance of their secondary school friend
Lots of love, Superlove Supreme
