i never fleshed out what my ratings meant/responded to call-outs as having been here for 10+ years, i already know that posting my opinion in any way, shape, or form would get me banned since it goes against the majority here. i thought it had been established by mods that people needed to stop caring so much about ratings, but i guess i was wrong about that. i just never saw the point in doing something that would end up in basically shooting myself in the foot, i dont give a shit about people calling me out or being too "cowardly" to voice my own opinion (sans being banned). its an internet forum, not real life.

So you're literally too cowardly to have your shitty opinions challenged and resort to expressing them in the only way you consider "safe." Your opinions are considered unacceptable for a reason. Change them.

Maybe your opinions are so strongly rebuked because they aren't good opinions to have. Sounds a lot less like you're being trashed for your opinion on what the best way to eat a hamburger is, rather than your opinion on why certain people are greater or less than others. Reflect on why your persona revolves around the degradation of others and maybe you'll find something worthwhile.

The only times you get banned for an opinion if it's some extreme violent shit like "curbstomp all trannies" or whatever. You don't get banned just for having an unpopular opinion else I would easily be perma banned by now. You get told you're an idiot at the very most. Laika confirmed for a bitch

yall can think what you want but thats my reasoning. ive seen plenty of times where people that were being contrarian, no matter how reasonably they defended themselves, get banned (usually with the reason "for being a bigot") so thats what i resorted to. any sort of notion of an opinion thats right-wing leaning on here is like a sin. i literally just said why? i want to express my opinion on the topic i say "coward" as people act like im afraid of my opinion being challenged or something when its just not wanting to get banned for having it

Saw plenty people get banned for expressing an unpopular opinion. Anyway, once you start arguing, you pretty much get lambasted by everyone and your argument is being taken out of context. Even uf you try to stay humble. Of course this does not apply each time but it happens quite often.

You're well aware of why your opinion would receive backlash, but instead of self-critting and actually looking at what that might mean, you've resorted to inappropriately rating things for a long enough time that you've been called out for it. I can't say I have any sympathy for you. I don't expect you to change your opinion just because people online get mad at you, but what you're doing is flat-out immature. Leave the discussions alone, lurk, or seriously examine your own opinions - leaving the ratings is doing nothing to contribute to any conversation and no one is better off for it. It wouldn't be so bad if you haven't admitted yourself that you know full-well why your opinions wouldn't be tolerated. It wouldn't be so bad if you haven't been doing this for long enough to get called out for it.

People get banned for being idiots or assholes. There's a difference between merely holding an unpopular opinion and defending your unpopular opinion in a way that's not conducive to actual discussion. The ones that get banned are nearly always guilty of failing to defend their opinions in a reasonable manner. The rest are those who hold opinions that are simply not welcome on Facepunch in any form such as racist trash hamsters.

not even what im saying? its defensible to me, but as i said any presenting of this opinion/defending of it would ultimately lead to being banned as this forum is massively left-leaning and dont even want the presence of anyone thats right-wing on here. so, again, why shoot myself in the foot. the last time this whole thing was brought up this was a point i had raised then too. im not a fan of being involved/dragged into debates that can go on for numerous pages. i even think a lot of the time that when that does happen on here it just ends up going nowhere. i never asked for any sympathy from anyone, people were wondering why i was doing this and ive said so. and with your point why should anyone rate then if theyre not gonna post anything? its not like theyre adding to the conversation either.

I think Laika is having a hard time understanding that we really want to know why and how they think this way but refuses to express that by hiding behind a scapegoat called ratings. Without ratings I can imagine that Laika would be furious as they cannot express their unpopular thoughts with their only.scapegoat and would have to post only to be bombarded because they don't know how to do it cordially. Just quit using your scapegoat dude and grow up, then you'd see that people would be more willingly to discuss with you vs trying to figure out for themselves what the fuck your opinion is Additionally if you discuss you may actually learn something and that would be a very useful piece of knowledge. I can't imagine what it's like to gimp yourself with a scapegoat.

I agree with you to some extend, people not being able to defend their argument should not be bannable though except they are utter toxic shitstains. This is where I feel a bit concerned because sometimes the lines are blurred.

ok can you stop it with this shit where you act like your a victim of the mean leftists? "It's just my rIgHtWiNg oPinIoN" honestly one of the most pathetic things I've seen from people trying to act like their hateful bigotry is just some right-wing thing and not that they are a hateful bigot. It's not that people here don't want the presence of anyone that's right-wing, it's that people don't want the presence of someone who outright hates trans people and relishes in their suffering. It may come as a surprise to someone like you but there is a difference.

Being Transgender and being put through many of the "treatments" is more harmful than good. I find it a lazy way to treat their mental and physical needs, akin to giving an alcoholic opioids to replace his alcohol addiction.

He thought Sosig's attitude and transphobic comments were unacceptable, but almost every other mod didn't.
