Elaborate at what kind of risk, sounds pretty biased in the saving my ass kind of way to me.
Crap likely made that post while Hezzy posted his but the general rule of thumb is that leaking mod chat can get you instantly removed. Its happened before and is kinda an unsaid rule.
Honestly Crapt has been the most unbiased person this entire thread.
Can someone explain to me how ferrying people off of a forum that's actively falling apart, with the owner expressing that they don't want to keep running it, to another forum, is a coup? Or how planning said movement constitutes a coup.
Ah yes this is totally the fault of the community and not the people in charge
A lot of it has to do with the timing and the way it was handled. Which was very poor.
Excuse me if the recent actions of the majority mods has soured my trust in everyone that is currently one, that he would do a unbiased release of the logs.
Like others have said, i was fairly optimistic in Knockout, but the past ~120 posts or so have cemented that i've basically no faith in the current mod team nor Knockout and it won't succeed without sweeping changes to who is running the show. Wow, sounds almost a lot like the predicament we're currently in already.
I thought they were already posted somewhere. If not my hot take. Sosig does his job and apologised and will not go that way ever again in public or he's gone. Inacio has yet to apologize. I'd accept an apology but that wouldn't make want anything back in terms of power. If a community based forum wants and wishes to see some involvement with the moderator team. There has to be a compromise and the ideas of elections have to be considered. Deeply. Meaning I'd have to be the greatest politician on the forums to be a damn moderator on KO and I think that would be fucking cool.
ah yes, lets just make the site worse and never complain about bad changes.
Won't be my problem if you can't trust the chatlogs.
Completely valid concern.
Hezzy was community manager, I would assume that him agreeing on releasing the logs unredacted would not put Craptaskets account at risk. And as far as I know, no one else has taken the step up to be the successor to Hezzy as community manager, so I would assume his word still carries a lot of weight, especially whether or not actions would be taken for leaking mod chat.
Did garry start this thread knowing all this would come to surface?
Very tactful response there, really inspires confidence in what you'll release.
Oh, huh. I was told you were doing everything and nobody had a clue what was going on. Brb getting tin foil hats on
if you wanna save the community itll have to be on facepunch or another website from what ive seen it wont be on knockout
How about you just post them? You shouldn't have brought this up if you're just gonna draw it out and wave them over peoples heads when they're already doubting the mod team.
how to lose people's trust 101
To be honest, I don't even know any more. Everything has came so sudden I don't think anyone was actually put into the head role, I mean the next person in line was technically Postal but he's been AWOL due to JB3. Ironically the next person I would look up to would be crap but that was back when I was on the team so honestly, I don't fucking know. vv
It's not about him apologising and not doing it again. His actions were found unreasonable by the community, and Hezzy demodded him. He should never have been reinstated by the moderators without the community being asked if they want to give him a second chance
Holy fuck what a shit show this has turned into. There is so much dirty laundry laying around that it's becoming overwhelming.
I give zero shits. Unbiased chatlogs of the happenings will be given. sensitive info redacted. If another mod detects bias it'll be instantly known don't be dumb.
Its us stuck in our old ways. All I can say and i was brought up on them. I do believe in change. I think we should seriously consider the idea on a community based forum.
Clovis23/05/2019 @Hezzy can we speak about the demodding Sosig ..
Man, some things or people will just never change.
>if another mod detects bias That's the dumb statement here considering the mods have spent the past six pages throwing each other under the bus.
What a good time to give zero shits been here since 06, don’t shut down fp. Mod elections would be good, release those logs plz
I'm not entirely certain why people are getting fucked off with the mods not acting like 100% professional business dicks (suits and ties maybe included) who have never made a single comment in the wrong, or who do not have desires of their own. The entire history of FP is mired in fucking weirdo moderators who either shitposted like the best of us (Crapt is still a mod, but was a notorious shitposter and that never really changed) or had their own thoughts on how the community should work. All that mattered was that they did their jobs, and they have and still are in spite of this "coup". Garry has his fucking join date set to 9/11 for Christs' sake. It's part of the history and charm of this community that our moderation team is a dysfunctional bunch of actually effective rule enforcers. I was a bit wary at first of the push for KO during the dark times, but calling it a coup is quite an overstatement. The forum has been on life support for approaching a year now. With no meaningful decisions being made. The mod team having a backup plan in place and using the downtime to bring it to light shouldn't have shocked anybody. We as a community had been discussing what could be done if the forum was to die after all. And the actions taken during the downtime were easily revertible with no lasting impact on the forum past upsetting a few people. Sudden? Yeah, sure. But so was the downtime. If the forum hadn't come back properly that would have been the end of the community without the backup plan.
oh I think Garry gave up on us long before Knockout was really a thing, and when (not if) he pulls the plug, he'll just be using it as an excuse.
