Maybe we can talk to @Silverlan and Ignacio about having Knockout be an official outlet for Pragma. It's by design very much a Garry's Mod like, but on an entirely original engine that Silverlan has full control over. That way, if Garry / Facepunch don't want to use a forum they have no control over for an official outlet for their products (which is totally understandable), Knockout will still at least have something.
And no I am never going to stop shilling Pragma. I genuinely think it's a great thing, and I have huge respect for Silverlan for spending the long years working on it by himself.

In regards to what people are thinking KO's "niche" should be for attracting new users - I see Facepunch forums and look at all kinds of creative talent, such as the "What Are You Working On" threads, the TF2 Emproium, GMod content, etc.
Why not make K.O. be based around digital creative content promotion?

The gmod devs have carried on their work and i'm glad, they're good people but with the Facepunch forums
(where most of us gmodders found by seeing the logo upon starting the game, finding the site and then finding people doing art)

The homepage doesn't reflect it yet, but there are plans to showcase member creations, be that graphic design, software, music, you name it.
We will be implementing private messages again, with limited group chat support so it will make organising things in private a little easier.

As an 07'er, I'll hold on as long as I damn well please. There are very many reasons for me to continue being a member of this community, and very few reasons to not try whatever I can to keep it alive. I'm 100% not getting stuck in the void of Discords, Subreddits and FB Groups by my own choice. Fuck that noise.

I'd like to throw out there that my arguments weren't under the pretense of there having been a coup, that's stupid. My arguments came more from just the attitude of some of the mods and how they handle themselves. The "coup" was a hilariously bad misstep that they've owned up to, nothing more.

I don't need to reiterate what has already been said. Garry needs to set an end date for the forum - I'd rather FP died a noble death than continue to watch the community disappear and fragment into nothingness through infighting and stagnation.
I am unsure how I feel about FP itself directly endorsing KO from the front page or whatnot. If the only way to get users to join KO is by handholding them straight from FP then you've not solved the underlying issues that FP is suffering from.
Planning your steps and encouraging users to move there is OK, but doing it with a heavy hand locking the official discord and plastering stickies everywhere - essentially exploiting individuals elevated privileges - I'm not so sure. I don't think it was a coup per se, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a tad shambolic.
I'll be sad to see FP go, both the forums and community. I don't post often as I either have shit patter or regurgitate what already exists in a thread. The community is not what it once was, this thread alone is a symptom of that, but that didn't stop me from feeling isolated and alone when the azure servers had a stroke.
It's clear to me that the only way KO can succeed is to make it something people want to join and be a part of, rather than being the community's life support.
