Look, it's pretty clear he was planning to shut it down anyways and posted this to troll us. I woulden't put it past him to post this, then throw up his hands at the trashfire of a thread to say "Welp! Guess nobody wants FP so I should shut it down now!"

I'm sure this has already been said, but KO wouldn't exist as a concept if you weren't so non-committal, Garry. One minute you're re-making the forums from scratch, the next you've ceased further (re-)development of it, the next you're talking about shutting it down. My answer to your question is conditional; Do you want/are you fine with the FP forums just existing? Cause I think most of us are. Is it incurring you costs you would rather not have? Then yes, give us a definitive date for when it all goes bye-bye so we can actually be prepared for it. KO was only spawned out of the legitimate worry that one day we'd all jump on to find these forums no longer exist, which is an impression you were giving off strong a few months ago.

The answer is obvious my guy. If you spent 5 minutes reading the replies to your posts instead of fucking vanishing every time you make a post about this forum it'd be obvious to you as well.
Even if features on current Facepunch were improved, I'd not feel entirely justified in staying because Garry would be willing to shut it down on a complete whim. It's hard to want to stay when the longevity of the forum could be weeks.
The solution is to make a shitty pure HTML ripoff of the site that would get cease and desisted in two weeks.

I still think Lite is so much nicer to use compared to the base site, if only it had all the features.
Geez reading this thread makes me want somebody to pull my plug.
Personally I say garry should just shut the forums down and sue knockout til they go offline too but hey thats just my opinion
Okay and in what ground is there to sue? Running a forum using no code from the Facepunch forums is not something you can sue for.

@garry Doubt you'll answer or see this but at this stage in the game, is there any other reason to keep the forum other than its 'History', 'Tradition" , or "Community"? Don't know how you feel and I imagine life and work keeps you busy enough but I would like to say thanks for providing such a unique platform over the years. Even with my limited experience, It was always my Go-to for Garrys Mod.
However,
Relics of the past, no matter how near and dear to us, should stay in the past.
Can the mods just post whatever was said in mod chat regarding whatever decision garry made? It's ridiculous that we're 27 pages and 4 days into this drive-by of a thread and yet still nobody knows exactly what's happening to this place or why this post was even made.

There hasn't been a decision made. There is support for KO however and most users don't want to move from FP(which is true).
When I said in an earlier post you are waiting for the man of the hour I wasn't kidding.
