Photoshop contests like its machine code, GTA 4 cover edits, and that Johnny Depp telescope one, GMOD comics like Lode's Afro Zombie and of course Concerned, bad speeling bans and auto-ban banhammers, are some of my earliest memories of this place. I would love to read afro zombie again. We had building competitions in the building subforum and some excellent star wars pod racers came out of that.
One of the most powerful stories I've ever heard was posted here. It was about a member's friend who passed away from cancer. I always hoped Garry would one day recover all the lost threads from that time so I could read it again, it was that beautiful and moving.
This was a very cool thing to be a part of in the late 00s.

Facepunch has been, for more or less, part of my life for 14 years, and that's been a hell of a ride. Should it indeed happen, @Unclejimmema 's stream was as good of a send-off as any, celebrating the good and bad of FP. I am kinda sad that I kind of stopped posting regularly after 2011 or so, only really posting more in just few threads and ignoring the rest of it. I still lurked around so I never really left.
Thanks to everyone for making facepunch the place it is, and in the case that it's shutting down, I'll see you guys elsewhere (Knockout probably), and if it doesn't actually shut down, I'll try to be a bit more active in the future.
