You can't merge an oldpunch account that is currently banned, and in some cases permabans will be manually mirrored if we spot them. Other than that, dunno if bans are going to be imported like e.g. the gmod threads have been.
since oldpunch is dead at the moment can that classify as the official switch to newpunch :v
I don't mean migrating banned accounts, I mean say someone who has shit ban history and on their next mistake would get permabanned.
Would they still get permabanned or account here is a clean slate?

I think the majority of the things listed are probably already taken into consideration. The PMs and Visitor Messages especially, the Read thread and Thread Subscriptions should see a return as well I would have thought as most of the people used those.
oh also something that I miss personally is linking to the person being quoted to see the context
Is there a Popular Theads page anywhere that I may be missing? I use that almost exclusively. Also: is this post word-wrap appearing for anyone else, or is it because I'm on mobile?
At this point we can't even see who is viewing a thread, when that gets implemented I'd expect the popular threads feature to come back too.
Have avatar file sizes changed, and will larger avatars get larger file sizes? Or is everyone stuck with 100kb? I can see that getting a bit restrictive for larger gif avatars.
Spoiler tags are pretty awful to read right now, especially when there are several in a single post. They could really do with a toggle on click or at least faster opening.
Not sure if this is just me but if I reply into a thread, when I go back to the list of threads it says there has been a new post but the new post was me. I don't remember that happening on the old forums, but I may have overlooked it.
definitely something I assume has been requested before, but just to emphasize:
thread subscriptions, popular threads, and read threads pages are pretty core to what I like about hanging out on FP. I'm starting to feel the need for a 'mark unread' button to disable the new post notification number on threads I don't care fore.
also would like some ticker functionality for them sweet sweet "why the fuck did someone rate me funny in a thread about some terrible death from five years ago" moments. Notifications is partially covering this need with replies, maybe you could have a dedicated notifications page to click through to, that covers more of these statistics like ratings and mentions

Email verification wasn't something I wanted to have to do, but if we want twitter/steam signup we need it - since they don't provide email addresses.
For the time being, I'm just using CSS to make them look like imageboard spoilers because I dislike the blur.
If you do like the blur, but want the transition time to be faster, try this in your custom CSS:

Or whatever you want the fade time to be. It's 1 second by default.
