I'm pretty sure it sends them a notification and they'll be able to see your message on a certain thread.
Yeah, I get the idea and I can think of a few situations where other people might use it, I just don't know if I'd use it much myself.
If you've already read the thread before click the "10 minutes ago" (or whatever time) button and it takes you to the post that you have last seen.
Mentions should probably show up in quotes. Looks really weird having the name missing like that, lol.
Instead of embeds for a set list of things why not use Iframely? It's fairly easy to implement (NodeBBs implementation), embeds just about everything if you want it to, is open source and can be self hosted.
I already miss the informative, optimistic, winner and zing ratings. They all meant something that can't be replaced by any of the new ones. In fact a lot of the new ones are super situational. For example just for Winner we need 3 new ones:
If someone won something randomly, Winner. Now I'd have to use Lucky.
If someone won a tournament, Winner. Now I'd have to use... Big Whoop?
If someone fixed something that was hard to do, Winner. Now I'd have to use... Cookie?
i made an icon to replace the valve general one, fits with the aesthetic of the forum
It would be nice to have a Meta subforum about Custom CSS Themes. I don't think they would work in a megathread.
two different actions not implemented
Also I just realized quotes are missing the link to the quoted post.
If someone was being retarded, dumb. Now you'd have to use Child Molester (because "Garry's humor")
It seems like people who have been banned can still post.
assuming this is a bug?
EXPLAIN THIS,
When will the Read page come back? I'm already having trouble with keeping up.
On mobile, it seems like closing an images expando only happens with a double tap. It would be more intuitive if tapping outside the image closed the expando. Running Chrome on Android 7.0
Very minor thing, but for those wanting to keep track of their user level percentage currently has to, to my knowledge, go to a thread to either hover over their current level to see the percent, or they have to go down to the "New Reply" box and hover over their level there. It'd be easier if you could hover over your name on the upper right and see the percentage that way.
Love some of the recent changes with the new forums but I have never been a fan of websites where you start scrolling down the page and part of it follows you. I think the top bar that comes down with you looks quite large too. Could it shrink a bit smaller when you scroll away from the top of the page or perhaps be hidden with one of those tab things you can click on to make it pull down if you want it.
I like how lit up and bright the bell is though when you get a notification.
Replace the coin with postals ass
Not really a fan of the fixed header and glow around the alert icon
Please tell me what else you're not a fan of
The background flashing in different color really fast.
Tbh it'd be neat if the directory at the top and the header were combined so you dont have to jump back to the top to go up a section
I like the new ul control panel icons. Very flush.
I think right now navigation to threads can be rather limiting and counter-intuitive.
When already in a sub-forum, clicking on a thread regardless of the hyperlink used (thread icon, title, timestamp) always brings up the last unseen post. But on the front-page, clicking on the last updated thread of a sub-forum brings to the OP without a button to access the last unseen post and/or the last post in the thread like what oldpunch currently allows.
I think it should be possible to access at least first post/last unseen post with two separate links on any given part of the forum.
Any chance to make the top bar following you an option?
Yeah I quickly scroll to the top of pages all the time to hit the home button or one of the buttons next to it but on long pages it's a pain in the ass to scroll all the way back up to click it. The current banner that comes down has plenty of space for it to fit in.
I think the coin icon could use something else because right now the $ sign is just a blurry blob for me.
Minor gripe but the icons are not centred in their container elements, it looks wrong when you mouse over them.
I dunno, I kinda like it ? It looks better than everything being centered across the forum.
Holy Christ you have a lot of coins. But in seriousness,
is right. Unless you zoom in considerably, its pretty blurry. Maybe a silhouette of the coin rating icon could work? Or just a ¢? They're coins though, so maintaining that symbolism is important,
