We can look at making them less unweidly to work with. No need for bbcode in 2017.
garry: We can look at making them less unweidly to work with. No need for bbcode in 2017. As long as it's not markdown I guess
Would love to see popular threads remain. It's easier to see multiple threads from a variety of sub forums in one place based on what is most viewed/posted on. Can't think of a better way to view gaming section posts along side poldicks or sensationalist. Please!
Also, viewcounts on threads to make that happen
Have you decided against user-created subforums?
No I'm not against user created forums, but that's something we need to move into incrementally. The mistake with the lab forums was trying to do too much at the start. With this version I'm hoping to be building a solid foundation to build on over time.
:agree:
Doesn't like the _ in the url, will fix
When the posts are migrated over and the accounts are linked does it matter what your username is on the new forum or is it only the email that matters?
Darksoul: When the posts are migrated over and the accounts are linked does it matter what your username is on the new forum or is it only the email that matters? It shouldn't matter, and you won't miss the boat - you'll be able to associate your account after they're all merged.
the buttons to rate/quote posts are missing titles (can't see what they do with custom fonts blocked)
Is it possible to change ban lengths back to hours/days/months? 720 hours just seems like a really weird way to say 1 month lol
WitheredGryphon: Is it possible to change ban lengths back to hours/days/months? 720 hours just seems like a really weird way to say 1 month lol --Edit-- Also seems like newpunch suffers from the same bug old FP does where it generates the new page before a post for it is actually created. They’re alll measured in hours, I just need to present them properly
usaokay: For large images that suddenly get resized, I think it would be better if those images either don't get resized down too much and/or has the automatic option for a thumbnail for the original size. Case in point, if I wanted to post one of my works, it becomes difficult to read. Example: I don't want to make people go for the alternative linking to my DevArt or Imgur album. Yep, valid points, will fix tomorrow
I feel a little cornered by the rather narrow post wall, I understand it's probably important to you, but I do feel like making them slightly wider could help.
When attempting to login, the buttons are missing text as well as icons. However the icons re-appear for me upon disabling the Firefox plugin "NoScript" although even when running Firefox without plugins enabled I cannot get the text to appear. It's a slightly minor thing but considering that there may be a good chunk of people who disallow cross-web Javascript on their web browsers it may be worth noting. Another minor nit-pick is how the login button isn't visible from the home page and in order to log in you have to open up a subforum first. All in all the forum feels responsive, clean and very pleasant to use. Even this text entry box feels fresh just because of how simple it is to use, that is as soon as you realize that selecting text brings up options and merely pasting an image link appends the image to your post. Although potentially having some simple tooltips on the selection menu would be a very welcome addition.
What does Facebook, Twitter, GitHub, LinkedIn, steam look like at that res?
Here are pics of Twitter and Steam, they're honestly the same proportions but I feel a lot more comfortable there. I think it's because they're displaying information in much denser packages, and you're usually getting several columns of information in parallel. Here every post has its scroll distance even for just one line of text, so there's visually much less things going on on the screen. It makes things feel a little desolate IMO
Somebody mentioned it earlier, but the really wide sidebars irks me. Old Facepunch has pretty much no sidebar while this has almost half of the screen covered with it.
It'd be nice if clicking the link actually took you to the most recent post (or most recent unread post) similar to the way the old forum does rather than the first page.
Teddybeer: A sidebar to forums or FP projects would be nice. Fills the void for users with widescreens while for smaller devices it will just be hidden. Hell you can use it to display recommended threads a bit like youtube. garry could just add another breakpoint for 2560px and make it like 200px wider
would be cool if your own posts in a thread are highlighted or have some kinda of inidicator like it is on the old forum
I like the new look of the reply box
The only major thing that bugs the shit out of me currently is that I have a habit of clicking whatever is in the top left to go back to the main page. So I'm instinctively hitting the Forum link instead of the little Home icon, not that big of a thing and I understand the Forum link is there currently because this is using the project's layout but it might be a consideration of either hiding it later on or just outright removing it. Or I'm just being special again and this can be ignored. Loving the editor overlays though when you highlight stuff in the reply box, good way of keeping stuff minimal without removing functionality.

It's definitely not just you, I habitually do the exact same thing because of OldPunch.
Does my avatar show up here? In threads (also next to the new post field), it looks like this to me: Elsewhere, it appears correctly like so:

I'm pretty sure my gamma settings are correct, but I really can't easily read them at that size and contrast. It looks fine to me Also, it might just be me, but it might be nice if the background gradient darkened ever so slightly at the bottom of the page, like it does at the top .
I don't know how to link accounts, and I like this name better, Megadave was my caterpillar name. Now I am finally a beautiful butterfly.
No dumb rating please. Too easy to just rate dumb instead of actually explaining why someone is dumb in a reply.
There's a little too much whitespace between posts. Also, 40 characters is painfully small for thread titles, but I'm hoping that's going to change at some point
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
