what the heck gimme, i'm still stuck at A ;-;
unfortunately I think I've gotten myself stuck in an emotional place where I'm pretty sure I'll never be happy until I pass, which could be never, so...
My family is the opposite, all i've got going for me so far is a big dent in my chest (pectus excavatum) which at least gives a bit of depth
I know these are a google search away, but for those curious of the general timeline of the changes: https://i.imgur.com/OBjQy5Z.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tc9Mvb5.jpg also i found a goofy one that actually made me laugh
we are pectus excavatum sisters, our dented ribcages will one day carry the boobs we should have ;'(
If I were to go on T would that forego the need for me to get pap smears every other year because I gotta tell you those are painful as all get out.
Well sHIT. Last time I got one done, I ended up digging my nails into my other hand so hard that I ended up bleeding. But it might've also just been that the gyno I went to was not great because she refused to stop even when I told her to. So maybe I should just find a better gyno lmao.
I think she was technically a "midwife". My mom recommended her to me and I didn't know better so who knows. I didn't know the specifics.
Fair warning, I am going to be closing this thread when I wake up tomorrow. Feel free to create threads on the topics you're discussing in here. We're trying to encourage people to spread out more, be liberal with the thread creation button. Don't group everything into one thread!
what are we suppose to do, make every little possible topic of conversation this thread can encompass into a separate thread? Do yall actually understand why this place exists?
Thats fucking stupid lol. Do you want us to make a crossdressing thread, a dysphoria thread, a hormone discussion thread, a support group thread all separate?? What is the point of that? This thread server it's purpose very well. It you kill it you may as well be killing the trans community on facepunch.
New Thread: Got Dysphoria Again Lads New Thread: God I Wish I Was A Girl
was my 15 character post about enjoying a TDoV event worth making it's own thread? who would read it? who would reply to it? what's the point?
So wait, you want five different threads that are essentially the same thing and fragmenting the already small trans community into further shards? I'm sorry, I don't quite get the reasoning
I've been discussing this on the Discord. I'm open to feedback and have been discussing things with people in there. Please continue to give us helpful feedback, the forums are in a state of flux at the moment and things are liable to change.
I understand that reddit has a great structure that works very well for it, but that's because of one thing. It's size. Reddit is a huge community with hundreds of millions of users. Facepunch is a grain of sand on the beach that is Reddit. Their structure just wouldn't work here. With the small size of this forum, forcing larger threads into smaller groups would shatter communities on Facepunch-- Communities which are too small to regroup into an entire subforum. If Facepunch was much larger, I would support this move. But as it is, it would do more harm than good. Hell, you could even keep the option open for certain topics, that would be great! But forcibly locking the doors on generalized threads is a mistake.
it isn't much of a discussion if you're not gonna actually consider that maybe breaking up threads like this and the depression thread which exist as support groups to a very niche community within the forum will effectively die when you stamp out a thread that was sufficient enough for discussion because every little issue with dysphoria or depression does not need its own dedicated bulletin
Three things: 1) This thread should not be broken up. It is not just a chat thread. It's an important resource and safe space. Fragmenting the information and support it offers is not a good idea. 2) Do not make a forum display the posts in it's child boards. It's unnessecary clutter and makes it hard to find the stuff that doesnt fit in those subforums. 3) Not everything needs to be fragmented. Sometimes a singular thread is fine due to being a subject with low traffic and/or minimal possibilities for... sub-discussions?
nah trans threads go great on facepunch thats why we keep making hundreds of them instead of having one safe space where we can actually express ourselves
this is only further fragmenting an already tiny community to begin with. splitting these topics that overlap a LOT with each other into seperate threads doesn't help anyone browsing, and only convolutes posts and discussions.
Heyo! Would just like to throw my two cents in, Personally feel this thread would be far more useful and friendly in it's current form than split into sub-topics. Should point out this isn't an attempt to get preferential treatment or special protection for sufferers, just that for this specific topic and the issues it addresses, the thread may do more good as a single safe place for people to stay. I can see that this is an exception however, but I would consider this an exceptional thread for a couple of reasons more complicated than most. If it was split, the legitimately helpful and supportive conversations people hold as a source of genuine comfort would be much more difficult to follow, and with less opportunity for advice on issues that commonly overlap without going off-topic. Not all aspects of the thread would be recreated anyways, effectively reducing dialogue on these problems. (I can't imagine a dedicated Allies thread would be deemed necessary to be completely honest, and if it was included in a new Trans thread, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of splitting?) The user base is quite small as it is, so having smaller threads would likely make them quiet and uninviting. The Hub feeling seems to help people get the courage to talk openly about any small related problem they've been facing, without fear of misunderstanding thread purpose or significance of their problem. Having many threads would almost certainly come with some push-back from the rest of GD. "they are taking over" etc. (straw man alert). In only the small amount of time I've been in here I've already seen some pretty horrifying treatment by some people outside of here, and I feel that having a single, modest thread would help mitigate a lot of the negative reactions from certain people that can really be avoided. I.E one thread = everyone wins With that said, thanks for the warning, and for being open to discussion! Apologies for rating you Dumb first
I reccomend everyone in this thread who takes issue with the fact this thread (and presumably every other thread in Lifestyle) getting nuked tomorrow should move their complaints to {{Meta}} its much more likely to be heard there than here
If you're going to do this you need to at the very very least implement an LGBT subforum, if not a trans specific one Having us continuously create new threads for spontaneous discussion in GD is just gonna invite dickheads who wanna engage in "civil debate" in every thread and I'm pretty sure nobody here wants to put up with that
Good riddance.
Very useful input thank you!
Holy crap, I just realized I have so many tiger stripes on my thighs.
Lucky, all mine are on my stomach, despite having really chubby thighs >_>
If you're going to split up this thread we at least need an LGBT subforum. Otherwise we'll get scattered to the wind and the community will die.
This thread is one of the ones that I think shouldn't get closed. Splitting things up should be handled on a case-by-case basis and the mods should consider whether a particular thread would work better being split up or whether splitting it would just stifle further discussion on the subject since that would be completely counterproductive for Garry's goals here.
This thread isn't even fast, it gets like 10 posts a day if we're lucky
