Hi, I'm not transgender, but I have a friend who is transgender, so I'm trying to better understand how this all works. My issue is that I usually refer to everyone (regardless of age,gender,etc) as dude/man/guy/homie (I started doing this semi-ironically in high school and now it's just become second-nature) and I'm now kinda worried about calling someone dude and then being informed that they're MTF and accidentally hurting their feelings/making them feel like they don't come off as female. I'm worried that if they have an issue with it and I reply "oh sorry I just call everyone that" I'll come off as a jerk who's not taking responsibility for misgendering someone, when I'm actually not trying to do that. So I guess my question is this a legitimate concern, and if so what's a good way to deal with this? Sorry if my logic is a bit hard to follow, I'm not very good at writing.

Blehhh I've been on HRT for a while and haven't felt a reduction in libido, don't know why I'm getting so hung up on ONE LITTLE THING. Partly afraid HRT isn't working on me for some reason and getting really antsy and anxious, gonna ask my endo about it next time I see her.

I've never though twice about it when someone says "Guys, or dude." Mostly it is Sir and man that get me.

Nothing wrong with asking them directly about it.

I've also not had a huge impact on my libido from E, but all the other changes are going through! My T levels have dropped from 26 down to 15.9 so probably just needs to get a bit further!

as much as I like this thread being not in gd im not sure about sexuality being the best place for it either considering how many people get this wrong but /shrug

Having received and considered feedback from this thread, direct messages and discussions on Discord I don't feel it would benefit anybody to close this thread.

Being part of the people who get peeved at being referred to as dude, bro, etc. the best thing you can do is say something like "Sorry, it's a habit. If you mind I'll try not to do it again, but I might slip up." Or ask people when you meet them if they mind you saying that.

I finally managed to get the GIC to give me the letter that went missing. Unfortunately I was meant to have a bunch of communications back in January and nothing happened. They can't continue at my current GIC since I study in Wales rather than northern England, but haven't gotten back to me on getting everything transferred. It's frustrating that I'm getting nowhere with them at the moment.

It's for an "IT Digital Media Specialist" position at my old community college. Not honestly sure on the specifics since they list that the duties might differ from department to department but I assume I'll be working with things like graphics and instructional materials for the college's online course content and stuff like that. I'm just gonna go in and see what's up since the description was so vague lol.
