I am still not sure how much coin gain rate is, so if low coin gain rate, will still lead to user using another rating in place. At such point, why not just have a dedicated winner from coin? Implicitly, value of winner<coin<diamond, so user can still show their amount of appreciation while giving bankrupt/saving user ability still express.
I know with my current rate of forum use, have only 10-15 coins always expected.
I dislike cookie rating to be honest, it lacks the "hell yeah buddy, way to go" meaning that winner had
i mean, that's pretty much what you get with the coin rating now, and even more so with the diamond rating. maybe it's just me but I really don't think we need four ratings to express the same sentiment towards a post but to varying degrees.
actually yeah coin is a pretty good replacement, it even has some kind of value attached to it
still, what meaning are the cookie and balloon ratings supposed to convey?
Balloon seems to be a sarcastic rating or at least that is my take. If someone was to post something to show off what they have done and you don't really think it's anything good it's like "yay, big woop, well done. *slow clap*" etc.
Cookie I have no idea, but I love Cookies. Tasty little things.
Well for cookie I take it as a straight up winner replacement, in the sense that they win a cookie for their post, but the post wasn't enough to be worth COINS. and as for the balloon, it's meant to be a sarcastic "who cares"/"big deal" rating.
Nothing will replace the ratings on oldpunch, but what we have on newpunch isn't terrible.
Some of them are pretty funny.

Coin and Diamond are fine equivalents, but I think that replacing Cookie with the old school Winner would be ideal in some ways too.
