@Alice Whats your background source?
@Noob© Your avatar is so adorable.
Thanks! Unfortunately it also gives a lot of people in this forum bad memories of their past-favorite game company.

@Fluury How exactly was I the problem? What sort of thing was I doing? Please give an example. There were a lot of people ruining those threads, and I don't recall being one of them. I can point out many times when people were trashing the discussion. Off the top of my head, here are 2 random examples of stuff happening: that time someone called me a street shitter, or those times one guy repeatedly threatened to report me.
@ASIC Actively keeping a discussion which people *really* wanted to move on going for the course of an entire year, despite people clearly showing displeasure and the general "opinion" of the thread being settled. Like that should be enough - talking about the same thing, with the arguments already being made for an entire year, constantly, basically every week. You could've been talking about the Liberty Launcher being underpowered, something most people agree on, if you were to try to make a discussion going of it for an entire year, you are threadshitting. Even if you believe you are in the right, you have gotten responses which were both constructive and entirely logical and blatant direct insults. For, once again, basically an entire year. The threadshitting you mentioned was short-timed, yours went on for a year. If you continue to be delusional to this, please don't expect me to continue contact to you.
Think about what you are saying. Your memory of events is not as good as you think it is. Witness testimonial is incredibly unreliable even in regards to life or death things. It's unlikely that you will have an accurate memory of something like an internet discussion. There has been a lot of articles written about that, here is one: Eyewitness testimony It'd be pretty wild if I kept 1 discussion going continuously for an entire year. Even if it was just 1 post per week for a year about crits, that would be rather wild. Are posts about crits 40 pages away from each other part of one discussion? What about 80 pages apart? So I'm going ask you for something much much simpler than a continuous discussion. Find 12 different posts where I discuss random crits in the tf2 general thread. The catch is each post has to be from a different month of that 12 month period. I'll pay you 200 dollars if you can do it. If you can't, then acknowledge it. Part of the reason I do not believe what you say about threadshitting, is because so many people were reluctant to give evidence for it. If something is so blatant, then proving it should be easy. Why do they hesitate about something they feel so strongly about? Look what just one guy did here: Guide to Being Boilrig Callout threads aren't allowed, but he was able to give evidence for his standpoint.
I really don't give a shit about you or about proofing this to you given you can literally ask anyone who is a regular in the thread and they'll say the same; that you kept talking about a topic quite literally everyone wanted to move past on. People don't want to give evidence because people don't care about you to give enough effort into proving this to you, especially knowing that youll just come back with another stupid question. Either way, you confirmed my initial statement; So how about we simply move on, thanks. You and the TF2 chat clown group will never get along for reasons stated 300 times already, and answering you probably was a mistake but I really am not understanding how you can't get this into your head.
@smurfy Excuse me, how was that flaming? I'm not directing any insult at anyone. It's a general "you", as in "Liking marmite makes you a tasteless sicko". pr00ch didn't pretend to objectively know where the line is. The message is directed to whoever would. Kind of sucks not having a RC anymore.
@Inacio https://app.stylepunch.club/ TLS certificate has expired, nearly blinded me when opened facepunch this morning pls fix thx
yeah someone mentioned it on discord and i fixed it
Since you said you don't understand why I don't believe that I did that stuff, here are a few reasons why: It doesn't matter that the regulars believe or say the same thing. Just because a large amount of people believe something, that doesn't make it true. An example of this in action is how most people used to think radioactive materials and cigarettes were harmless. Frankly there isn't much reason for me to trust them, or their judgement. These are the guys who said some real "galaxy brain" lines. Such as calling me a child fucker. Or telling me to drink bleach. If someone refuses to provide evidence for what they say, it doesn't make me believe them. If they repeatedly refuse, it makes me doubt them.  And the context of them refusing just makes me doubt them even more. If they refuse to give evidence when I offer to pay them, it makes me doubt them. I think this is the 4th or 5th time I've made this kind of offer. You said that >>People don't want to give evidence because people don't care about you to give enough effort into proving this to you But they seem to care a lot. Like when someone makes around 40 posts making personal attacks against me in that crit thread, they probably do care. They probably have the time to give evidence for what they say.   Even now, around 7-8 months later people still care. You cared enough about this to bring it up. Another guy cared enough to this stuff up in a completely unrelated thread I made.
The fact that people insulted you with lines like these is awful and passes the line of banter, but maybe - just maybe - the reason people got so incredibly fed up with you is because you kept discussing a topic for a *long time*. Not to forget dropping some quote on quote "galaxy brain" lines such as "why should the team with the most skill win?" and only fueling these people. Your entire style of arguing is incredibly annoying for a majority of people. Making up random "games" where you "pay people" or "ban me if I am wrong!" is incredibly awkward and almost a little bit creepy. If you do not understand why you are the subject of a lot of bullying from that thread, then maybe it's time to find a different community of people. Just because people insult you does not mean they care about you. My post was supposed to be c-list banter, but the fact that people keep bringing you up is because you've talked about the same topic for an incredibly long amount of time and annoyed people while at the same time people simply could not stand the temptation to argue with you - causing the downward spiral where you then started with your insanely awkward mannerisms and asking basic questions such as "why should the team with the higher skill win". It basically had the same effect as people not withstanding the temptation at looking at a car crash. If you don't understand any of this, I'm sorry. But please leave me alone because I sure as hell don't want to argue with you but you seem to genuinely not be capable of understanding any of this, and it baffles me.
I understand everything you say, I just disagree with stuff. Some of that is accurate. Not everyone who insults you cares about you. But if they do it long enough, they care (not in a good way). I think the anger comes down to 3 main things: "Tribalism". A really key thing is that I disagree with their group. If I agreed with them, but argued in the same style or for the same time they wouldn't care. They notice me. If there were a lot of users who agreed with me, they wouldn't focus on me**. But I am the one of the few around, and I was always there. And this thing you said: >>>Your entire style of arguing is incredibly annoying for a majority of people. I think the specific part that irritates them is the type of questions I ask. I like to make hard questions, like challenging people's base assumptions. It is not a guaranteed thing, but if you are unlucky it can really piss people off. It's really likely to happen with stuff like politics or religion. The other reasons doesn't matter. They are red herrings and/or untrue. **One time they showed up, and got scared away.
They care about insulting you, not about the discussion or the topic of it. And the rest of what I've said is what I'd personally consider very much important. Asking questions is fine, but once again; If you unironically ask the question "why should the team with the higher skill win?" in a competitive orientated community, then you are either incredibly naive or didn't think long enough. Especially with a topic like this which quite literally is, objectively, negative apart from 1 factor, but this discussion went on for long enough. That's why people, including me, considered your posts threadshitting. Talking about the same thing for an incredibly long time AND asking questions which are pretty stupid. You can lead a debate in a way that isn't annoying, one-sided as far as information-source goes and interactive. Constantly asking questions which move from smaller things to bigger things and eventually ending in "What are videogames? Why do we play them?" is not the way to go, and others have told you this already. I 100% expect you to answer this post with a question OR some hilly billy about how that totally isn't what you are doing. Look, I just hope I potentially asked 1/10th of the initial question you asked me. So farewell.
>>why should the team with the higher skill win? Actually, that wasn't the question I asked. It was something like (paraphrasing): "You said it's good when a high skilled team wins; But why? Sometimes a less skilled team wins, is it bad when that happens?" A lot of people thought I only asked questions, or debated one sidedly. That's actually what someone said to me this month, he said I made about 2 statements in an entire thread. I could easily make a list of over 50 posts where I made statements. Obviously, no one would want to read through that. To answer your example questions: >What are videogames? A loose answer is: A game that runs on a computer. I can't give a better definition right now. >Why do we play them? We play videogames for entertainment. You didn't mean them seriously, but I think they are decent questions.
"Again with this shit? What is it with people on this forum" and "X makes you come across as a pompous asshole" No specific user was named but using these phrases in direct quote posts as part of an argument, it looked like flaming to me and I still can't really read it any other way
@The bird Woman I love you
Well it wasn't, and as far as this forum goes I've never seen undirected complaints be considered flaming for as long as I've been here.
@Noob© are you still increasing the size of your avatar? i swear it gets bigger every time i see it.
I wish I can but no
@Dasein how do I embed that spotify playlist into FP? ive never done it b4
Put "https://open.spotify.com/user/bxny4fvugh4lep4izd5cmipeo/playlist/4Z4UaekAZpA5OVHvd3NYIh?si=xgU_WxSwT-OFs1j5yS1lTQ" without the quotes on either end.
@Jeff the Hobo Afaik nothing's been decided yet. It's a lottery, so it's not guaranteed he'll win. And obviously he'll have to follow some standards if he does win. He doesn't get free reigns.
@Geel Dude, you know I finished the work and sent you the files, right?
@Noob© The soyboy thing is from /pol/. But IIRC the myth that drinking soymilk will give you tits isn't from there.
