I agree but there would need to be some limitations on it, like mine is kind of obnoxious and I regret using it now. Take me a month to get 20 coins to change it now.

My guess is that you earn coins by being active.
An alt would have to be active on the forums, which would deny the main account coins because it's inactive.
Maybe if they were online at the same time on two different devices, but honestly if they're going through that much trouble just to get coins, let them.

You don't even really have to be that active to get coins, just post like a few times a day and you'll get a steady flow.
In fairness I often find it hard to butt usefully into a thread, so that wouldn't be the most viable for someone like me.
I feel the same way, but I don't think it matters all that much. I suppose you could always post in the WAYT or something.
You still get coins for browsing as far as I can tell.
Just browsing gets you coins, but posting helps get more. And from what I can tell, making threads bumps up the coin % by even more.
It's evident that the more active you are, the more coin you get. Just lurking gets the bare minimum it looks like, and using alts in this manner probably will work but only in the far long term.

What I'm saying is, making alts to grind for coins is not effective at all. It's completely useless, unless you actively browse FP with the alt and main at the same time.
Simply staying on one page and leaving it there while you go idle does not earn you coins. I know this because I often leave the FP tab open all the time on my computer and get no bonus.
Using alts to grind for coins is incredibly hard, if not impossible.
And this is what happens when you CSS irresponsibly.
You've probably got some conflicting custom CSS, I'd disable them one at a time to identify which one is messing things up. Alternatively could just be an issue with Awfully Dark.
@garry: you're applying an !important to stickied threads in threadlist which results in the most recent poster username being mod colored, even when they aren't
@garry For ratings notifications, can we please get a tally for how many ratings your post received, rather than just "your post was rated"?
Maybe as a compromise, you could wait for post ratings to come 3, 6, or 12 hours later, and you could cluster all of the ratings you got from that time period into one notification.
I would like the ability to turn rating notifications off completely.
I honestly do not care if someone rated me agree, coin, or asshole on some post I made yesterday.

Add that to your custom CSS field and it'll get rid of the notifications button which basically does what you want since that specific notification pane is currently only used for ratings notifications as far as I know.
