IMO there is a difference between watch people get randonly desmembered and a blade cut through an arm.
Edit: Or have it head blow clean off by a magnum shot, or even a normal bar fight
Btw I don't like anime (With some rare exceptions). Normaly the lack something that for me is importand to make something enjoyable.
Thats my opinion thou. However, kids die in anime and other things that, for other animations/films/etc is nearly unacceptable
